I see a lot of folks migrating from @OpenAI to @AnthropicAI . But I still encourage everyone to keep their skills sharp and not become dependent on AI. At the end of the day these guys can charge w/e they want.
@dux@maciejtrebacz@TheDumbTechGuy If this is true; which it is not. Why is 56% of #OpenAI workforce computer engineers? Why would they need anyone, really? AI can't innovate. AI can't contribute to a scrum ceremony and sit through countless iteration meetings. Very little of what a software engineer does is code.
@edandersen It is clear what is happening. We are discouraging a future generation pursuing CS. When people no longer know how to code the cost of tokens will be higher than gold and the usage will be turned down to the minimums. This is the reason I dusted off this old account. AI IS A TOOL
@dysinger It wasn't a trend it was the daddy of modern frameworks. It is still so usable for teams. I'm a rust dev now but still respect rails as a well built and balanced framework.
@bmcnett You're not wrong. I've been at it for decades a couple more won't hurt. Fully vested and my comp package has never been better. Loving life not loving vibe coders calling themselves engineers.
@Palak3312 Everyone said coding was over after the .com bust, recession, covid. Yet here I am with a better comp package than ever, stayed working through all of it. Change the victim mentality and you will be fine.
