There have been a couple of pins since we began DVLP that I did not want to make. The first of which was the Iryna butterfly pin in remembrance of the horrific slaying of the young woman on public transit who could have easily been our wife, mother, sister or daughter.
The second is this pin. π
For centuries of Christian art, a lamb at rest has been the symbol used on grave carvings and statuary to depict the loss of an infant or child, as believing parents commit their soul to the tender care of the Great Shepherd who "shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young." - Isaiah 40:11
This is a pin that I wish was never needed.
Until that final enemy of death is finally swallowed up in the victory of eternal and everlasting life, when death shall be no more, we remember the little ones whom Christ calls unto himself.

Brothers and sisters,
I know it is difficult at times, but if you can lift your eyes and hearts out of the day to day difficulties of so many littles and so many bills and so much mess and the need for another "hey babes I need to take another shift of overtime this weekend" and something else needs repaired and so and so is sick again...
and see what Lord willing is coming... truly exceptional.
No one else is doing what we are and what many of us have done - marriage by marriage, baby by baby, household by household obeying the Bible... we are the future of this country.
There are few families left in the West... but even less households.
We are those households.
Most of us fall into or will soon be top .2% households in our country.
The meek will inherit the earth, and truly it is us and our children.
Pray.
Ask the Lord for help and provision.
Find wise older folks.
Band together with others to share one another's burdens.
Don't growing weary in doing good, knowing in due season we will reap.
That season is a few decades off, but that season by God's grace is ours and our children's.

I didn't write it into the description, but it was a similar loss from another DVLP brothers' family that prompted us to put this pin together. It's a small, feeble, yet earnest attempt to encourage us in the deep, eternal, beyond understanding love of God who does not take away our sufferings in this life, but instead chose to enter into them (and thus redeem them) through his Son. Blessings on your family. Christ is with you.
