Research out of the University of Toronto shows that about half of the fertility decline from 1990 to today can be attributed to rising housing costs. There are plenty of people who don’t want to buy a house and they won’t regardless of the cost. But how many actually do want to purchase a home and can’t, and subsequently will not start a family.

Caleb is great and doing very interesting things through his content. But his take here is extremely reflective of his successful bachelor lifestyle. He doesn’t account for the need for roots, support networks, church/school/social stability that a family normatively seeks.
