I gave a talk on how #Celegans reaches the right #size at the online Cell Size and Growth seminar yesterday. A recording of it is available for two weeks. Big thanks to @JanSkotheim@mpswaffer and @MikeChuckLanz for organizing this fantastic series!
Excited to see that my first, first-author paper with @samgriffjon and @PapalopuluLab is now out! Do you work on dynamically expressed proteins? Probably. Check to see if your favourite transcriptional regulator features in our results.

Exciting #PhDposition in my lab at @unibern to study how organs reach the right size! We combine quantitative live #imaging of #Celegans, #genetics, and computational approaches. Check https://t.co/ynRki9fQHQ or DM me for more info. Please RT!

At the beginning of the lockdown, our postdoc @Caro_Hoppe was named one of the winners of the #eBSDBimages competition that was part of the online #BSDBGenSoc2020 conference. We love that image, well done!
Great talks so far at the #FameLab heats ....But a slight digression with the talk of 'fart maps' of festivals- any suggestions for applications of this idea ? 🤣 #scicomm
Researchers studied the genomes of New York City rats to find clues of how the creatures can thrive in a city, including diet, behaviour and movement. https://t.co/vGSC2XudGi
Come work with us @StAMathBio! To add to Mark's comment, our interests also include #devbio, computational #multiscale modelling and many others! @StA_Maths_Stats is a vibrant community and supportive environment - apply before 30 March for this fantastic opportunity!
Latest preprint by @TomMinchington @samgriffjon decomposes gene regulation into simple motifs showing that dual feedback motifs (auto-regulatory TF+microRNA) are prevalent and thus could drive dynamic expression in many genes found in human.

Exciting PhD opportunity with the up and coming PI of the moment Dr Guilherme Costa. If you are interested in RNA localisation, angiogenesis or ideally both then you should check out this fantastic opportunity: https://t.co/6qMtruwOrd
It has been an exciting and eventful week! Passing my PhD viva followed by our preprint which is available now on bioRxiv. We have used smFISH, MS2 live imaging and computational modelling to investigate how single cells decode the BMP gradient during Drosophila embryogenesis.
Surprisingly, the first 24h of zebrafish development, including germ layer formation and cell fate specification, doesn’t need polycomb repression
