Hey everyone! I don't get on here much as it's kind of draining, but I'm RE-starting up my Substack posts to keep everyone posted on all the stuff I'm up to that's been keeping me so quiet elsewhere. ๐

If you're writing a character who constantly makes poor choices and is at the absolute beginning of their character arc, this is a great example of their intro scene. I would love to see how this guy manages to save the realm at the end.
@Rippalorian Way back when I first started, I wish I knew ALL the learning and research involved. That there is actually a structure holding up most stories. Among other things, but those are the ones I know I was in the dark the most about. ๐
Homeschooling was the greatest gift I ever got
3 hrs/day
Started college at 15 with a 29 ACT
Very little intervention or 1-on-1 work with my mom, she taught me to read and maintained structure and discipline and I did the work
@Homeschool_LLC Same! My daughter really enjoys math AND art, her expressions are awesome and she doodles all over her workbook pages. This one's on the back of our index card flashcards lol ๐
We talk so casually about โchildcareโ like mothers are interchangeable, as if babies simply adapt to whoever is placed in front of them.
But children donโt just need care, they need their mothers.
They need the steady presence, unchangingness, the same face at the beginning and end of every day.
The world wants to pretend that none of this matters, that babies are resilient and mothers are replaceable.
But the child knows. Even if they canโt articulate it, their memories stay, the fear lingers, their bodies know.
And what a cruel tragedy isnโt it to have a child wondering every dayโฆ are you my mother?
@WTSmith17 As a 125lb mom with two little kids, I have several anecdotal moments proving I shouldn't leave my house without carrying, and I can't imagine a situation where I would pick strolling past someone dressed like a thug over a path without that person. Must be nice in his world. ๐
