Proud to be launching the #SectorPulseCheck report today at Westminster with @Hftonline and @CareEngland - alarming that 39% of providers have considered exiting the market entirely this year. Adult social care needs a fundamental change.
Yesterday, I attended the #VoicesForOurFuture@HftOnline event. I discussed with Rachael about the impact of negative attitudes towards people with learning disabilities and how we can work together to campaign for change so disabled people can live their best lives possible.
The #SocialCare sector cannot wait any longer for the vital funding it desperately needs. 😟
That's why we have signed this letter alongside @Hftonline and over 20 others. ✍
People with a #LearningDisability need the government to act now. 💷

New independent research finds that 3/4 of #LearningDisability care providers turned down new admissions to services in 2021, while more than 1/3 had to close their services permanently due to an average vacancy rate of nearly 16%. https://t.co/go4UZtVW3T #SectorPulseCheck
@beckyhewitt01 All good here. Ruth and I did say a while ago that we’ll get something in the diary for us all to catch up - feels like we could actually get something in now! Will send a message out. x
We're thrilled to announce the appointment of our new permanent CEO, @lynnanneperry.🎉
Lynn has worked for @barnardos for more than 13 years and looks forward to continuing to improve children’s lives in this new chapter.

Approaching the end of a great 1st week @Hftonline - thank you to everyone for the warm welcome. Having joined the camp of remote working ‘joiners’, all hints and tips on making it work well greatly received! 👍🏽
Last one from me… So, so proud that the fabulous team @mndassoc have been shortlisted for Charity of the Year. As a Trustee for the organisation, I know this is totally well deserved (although I am slightly biased!). Well done to all the nominees and best of luck! 🤞🏽
And doubly pleased that our See, Hear, Respond partnership has been shortlisted for Charity Partnership of the Year #ThirdSectorAwards. A huge well done to all the @barnardos colleagues, and the 87 local and national partner organisations involved!
@AmiableHuman @barnardos It’s been so great working with you Michael and I know you’ll go on to doing great things. Gutted you are leaving us but very excited to hear about your next adventures.
