I recently concluded a matrimonial case and obtained a decree of divorce by mutual consent. I was hired by the wife. She did not take a single penny in the divorce, no alimony, no maintenance, she even paid the fees for both the lawyers, me and the other side lawyer. She bore the entire expenses of the divorce process.
There are millions of such divorces happening in Indian court everyday where the women just wants freedom from a bad marriage and wants to give up alimony and maintenance so that he will quickly agree to mutual divorce.
But MRAs will whine about the micro miniscule percent of women who take what they deserve.
Three days after a group clash, Tenkasi’s Alangulam police registered a suo motu case against seven youths who allegedly rioted & damaged each other’s cars, creating panic among public. Two accused are sons of a theatre owner & cousins of #TVK district secretary. Their father is also a Makkal Neethi Maiam functionary. Of the seven accused, three were arrested, and four on the run.
Most of the accused were allegedly intoxicated during the clash, which was triggered by an argument over not giving way while overtaking. The SP intervened & ordered registration of the suo motu case after both groups claimed they had reached a consensus. Cars of both groups were seized.
My ex cheated on me. I was devastated.
Friend: You should send her something petty.
Me: Like what?
Friend: Flowers. But make it WEIRD.
I found a florist in Nakameguro.
Florist: What's the occasion?
Me: Revenge.
Florist: eyes light up, Tell me everything.
I explained the situation.
Florist: I have the PERFECT arrangement.
He made a bouquet of:
- Dead roses
- Wilted lilies
- A single cactus
- Card that said: "Hope your new relationship goes as well as these flowers"
Me: This is beautiful.
Florist: I've been WAITING for a customer like you.
Week later: He texted me.
Florist: "Did she get them?"
Me: "Yes. She's furious."
Florist: "Excellent. Tell your friends."
Month 2: I recommended him to a coworker going through a breakup.
Coworker: He made me a bouquet of ONIONS.
Me: Why onions?
Coworker: "To make your ex cry as much as they made you cry."
Coworker: It was GENIUS.
Month 4: The florist had a WAITLIST.
All revenge flowers.
His shop window sign: "Flowers for Every Occasion - ESPECIALLY Bad Ones"
Month 6: He went VIRAL on Japanese Twitter.
A celebrity ordered revenge flowers for her ex.
Posted a photo.
The florist got 500 orders in a week.
News article: "Tokyo Florist Specializes in 'Spite Bouquets'"
Month 8: He opened a SECOND LOCATION.
Hired staff specifically trained in "emotional damage floral design."
Me: You've created an empire.
Florist: I'm just helping people express their feelings.
Me: With dead plants.
Florist: With THERAPEUTIC dead plants.
Month 10: Someone ordered revenge flowers for ME.
Delivery guy: Package for you.
Inside: Beautiful fresh flowers. Card: "For inspiring the pettiest business in Tokyo. Thank you. - The Florist"
Me: crying
Month 12: His shop expanded to "revenge gifts."
- Chocolate that says "Sweet like the lies you told"
- Teddy bears with VERY passive aggressive messages
- Cakes that spell out "I'm over you (but also fuck you)"
Revenue: ¥15 million/month.
Present day:
The florist is opening locations in Osaka and Kyoto.
He offered me a partnership.
Florist: 10% equity. You were the first revenge customer.
Me: I just ordered flowers!
Florist: You INSPIRED me. This is your legacy.
I took the deal.
I now own 10% of Japan's largest spite-based floral company.
My ex sent me a message last week: "I can't believe you started this."
Me: I didn't start it. I just ordered flowers.
Her: You've created a MONSTER.
Me: *looking at quarterly profits* A very profitable monster.
Revenge is a dish best served with wilted roses apparently.
The President has assented to the #VandeMataram Amendment, passed without discussion in Parliament, which requires the singing of the National Song in full at the start and ending of any official function, in addition to the National Anthem.
As one who greatly respects both, and can sing the first two stanzas of the former (but not the other four, which were never required till now) as well as the entire anthem, i would like to point to just one practical consideration our zealots appear to have overlooked: human nature.
"Jana Gana Mana" requires audiences to stand respectfully and focus their attention for a reasonable 52 seconds. The National Song in full takes 3 minutes and 10 seconds. Tamil Nadu has just decided that both will be preceded by the State Song in Tamil for another 2 minutes. Do we really expect audiences to stand still and respectfully for six minutes before and after every function, a total of 12 extra minutes? Can respect and patience be legislated?
I fear that the intent of the Bill, to promote greater respect for the National Song , will not be achieved, but its opposite may well be....
Masterstroke by @Tukaram_IndIAS Sir.
You may get transferred, but don’t worry. You have the support of the people. The corrupt system can’t break you.

Huge respect to you Sir, for going after big brands.

This kid just filmed himself with every single thing he owns packed in his car.
Nine months ago he left Virginia to help a friend start a business outside Philly. It didn’t work. Now he’s driving six hours home — unemployed, moving back in with his parents, and admitting on camera: “I failed.”
Then he says the part most people never say out loud:
“Why not now, at a low point, to admit that I failed… and to let other people know that it’s okay to fail. That’s the point of life.”
He’s right.
Failure isn’t the opposite of success. It’s the tuition. The people who win long-term are usually the ones who stopped pretending the setbacks never happened and just kept moving.
Respect for saying it while the bags are still in the backseat.
Want to remain single?
Keep requiring the guy to make at least as much as you – even if he's still in his mid-to-late 20s and building his career.
This is tough love, but more single women need to hear it.
I keep seeing the same pattern: Well-educated, high-earning single women who only want men earning equal or more.
Meanwhile, there are solid guys in their 20s and 30s, especially in careers with longer runways, who won't even get a chance.
Fast-forward five years, and those same men may be earning several times more, after their careers have taken off... while the pool of men who "measure up" to her own rising standards gets smaller and smaller.
I see it all the time, as a professional matchmaker.
Don't blame it on the men.
Sure, there are men with insecurities, but don't hide behind, "He'll have ego issues."
Own your preference!
Let's address hypergamy, and I'm not here to fight with women, because I serve men AND women.
Yet, I can only help people who let me help them.
Take my advice.
It's okay to desire a certain lifestyle. But stop fixating on a single data point: his current salary.
Look at his trajectory. Look at his potential.
Bet on the winning horse if you must. (It's good for the species.)
Otherwise, accept that the older you get, the higher your own education, professional qualifications, and income climb, the fewer the men who will meet your rising bar with each passing year.
As for those men who do measure up:
The higher THEY climb, the more valuable they get because their stock rises in the eyes of potential matches. They have great pickings.
Understand this plain and simple supply and demand relationship.
Now, preferences are personal. But I'd encourage you to separate your must-haves from your nice-to-haves.
Use common sense.
Thank me later.
Save this if it made you pause.
Share it with a friend who needs this reality check.

1903 - THE MATCH GIRLS WITH ROTTING JAWS, LONDON
This photo was taken in 1903 inside the Bryant & May match factory in Bow, East London.
Look at the young women's faces. Their jaws are swollen, rotting, glowing in the dark. They are teenagers — 14, 15, 16 years old. This disease was called "Phossy Jaw."
Their job was dipping matches into white phosphorus. White phosphorus is poison. Every day they breathed it. First their teeth fell out. Then their gums turned green and black. Then their entire jawbone rotted and had to be cut out by a doctor with no painkiller. Some died screaming.
The factory owners knew. They knew since 1880 that white phosphorus kills. But it was cheap. Safer red phosphorus cost 3 times more. So they kept using white.
These girls worked 14 hours, 6 days a week, for 4 shillings. If they talked, they were fined. If they dropped a match, they were beaten. Their faces glowed at night from the phosphorus — they called them "ghosts" on the streets of London.
In 1888, 1,400 of them went on strike. All teenagers. Led by a 16-year-old girl named Sarah Chapman. They marched to Parliament with their swollen faces and said: "We would rather starve than rot."
London was shocked. And finally, in 1908, Britain banned white phosphorus — because of these girls.
This was not medieval times. This was 1903 in London, the richest empire on earth.
They were just teenage girls working in a factory… but their courage forced an entire nation to change.
I brought my father to see the house I bought last month, the first property in our family that wasn't rented, inherited, or fought over.
He walked through slowly, touching walls like he was checking them for something, not saying much until we reached the kitchen.
"Your grandfather never owned anything," he said quietly. "Rented that Mushin flat for 30 years. Died still paying rent."
I hadn't known that detail before.
"I always swore my children wouldn't inherit that cycle," he continued. "Just didn't think I'd get to see it broken this fast."
I asked if he was proud.
He didn't answer directly, just walked to the window, looked out at the small compound like he was memorizing it.
"Proud" isn't a strong enough word," he finally said. "This is 3 generations of renting, ending in this kitchen."
Then, completely serious, he opened my fridge uninvited and asked why there was nothing to eat in a house this expensive.
I laughed so hard I had to sit down.
Some cycles end in silence. Ours ended with my father raiding an empty fridge, already at home.
A Yale professor recorded one semester of game theory in 2007 that quietly explains how Google, eBay, and every online ad exchange on earth extracts over $500 billion a year from advertisers.
Yale charges $86,000 a year to sit in that classroom. He posted every lecture to Yale Open Courses in 2008 for nothing. Millions of people have watched. Almost no retail trader, founder, or negotiator has used the framework.
His name is Ben Polak. He is a Yale professor, former Provost of Yale, and one of the most watched university lecturers in the history of the internet. The 62-minute clip in this video is one lecture from his course ECON 159: Game Theory, taught in the fall of 2007 to a packed auditorium of Yale undergraduates.
Polak covers the entire mathematical foundation of strategic decision-making in 24 lectures.
Dominant strategies. If one option beats every other option regardless of what your opponent does, pick it. Everything else in game theory is a workaround for the fact that dominant strategies almost never exist in real games.
Nash equilibria. The point where no player can improve by unilaterally changing strategy. Almost every price on earth is a Nash equilibrium. Every wage negotiation, every auction bid, every trade in a market with millions of participants converges to one.
Auctions. The mathematical difference between first-price sealed-bid, second-price sealed-bid, English ascending, and Dutch descending auctions is worth billions of dollars a year to the entity running them. Google Ads is a modified second-price auction. eBay is an English ascending auction with a proxy bid. Treasury bill sales are Dutch descending. Each format extracts different value from bidders. Almost no bidder knows which format they are in.
Evolutionary strategies. Why cooperation sometimes wins over defection in repeated games. Why the tit-for-tat rule outperformed every complex algorithm in Robert Axelrod's famous 1980 tournament. Why almost every stable business relationship on earth is a tit-for-tat game.
Every hedge fund pays entry-level quants to know this material. Every big tech company hires PhD game theorists to design its pricing pages. Every corporate M&A negotiation is priced by consultants who charge $2 million a deal to apply the same equations.
"Never play a strictly dominated strategy."
That is the first rule Polak teaches every semester. He calls it the only rule game theory is entirely certain about. Retail traders violate it every time they add to a losing position because taking the loss feels worse than doubling down.
The lectures are free on Yale Open Courses. The problem sets and exams from 2007 are still online. Every equation Polak derives fits in under thirty pages of a textbook.
The math is free. The willingness to sit through 24 hours of game theory before opening a bid box, a trading terminal, or a negotiation is a much rarer commodity than the confidence to walk in without it.

I started this just for fun - tracking the books my daughter borrowed from the library and read from other places. The first entry was on 16th October 2020, a book from our nearby Government Central Library.
She was in Class 1 then. Now she’s in Class 7. In under six years, she has finished reading or listening to 999 books! Some were just 8 pages long; others ran up to 1,760 pages. She has her own home library of 427 books. Next is her 1000th book under 6 years :)
Now, she enters the data herself and very keen to enter all details including the Author/Publisher/No. of pages etc which I missed initially
Proud dad. 🥰
