@Neclovian Agree, 100%! I worked in restauarants for 9 years (15-24yo) prior to grad school. 1 yr BOH, 8 yrs FOH. The soft skills I learned from those experiences remain invaluable to me, even today. No retail experience, though!

@pparikhxr@REkaireb@NiuSanford Idaho:"The law allows the filing of lawsuits against doctors who perform such abortions, even if the doctors live outside the state. And if local prosecutors refuse to enforce the new law, the Idaho attorney general will have โsole discretionโ to do so." https://t.co/Bb4J1hMsF5
@REkaireb@NiuSanford ... the provider in the other state faces civil penalties in ID (and any ID resident who assisted with her travel or in obtaining abortion pills faces felony charges).
@REkaireb@NiuSanford And, to clarify, this law applies to medical care given *outside* the state of Idaho. So, e.g., if a 17yo ID resident who is a victim of an unreported rape/incest travels to another state to receive medical care resulting in abortion...
@nicoletranger@MichaelOumano Good advice. I don't recall what we stated in the delivery line (it was decade ago at a satellite clinic), but you'd think the many federal radioactive warning labels on the bucket should have led the driver to at least treat it as strictly as they do my home wine deliveries!
@MichaelOumano@nicoletranger Frightening to hear that we aren't alone in having had this happen. Sadly, it sounds as though it is just a matter of time before FedEx's luck runs out and a carelessly-delivered radioactive source ends up causing public harm.
@nicoletranger@MichaelOumano I, of course, reported the event to both Fed Ex and the state RAM oversight body, but nothing was done -- it was considered a one-off event by a new, substitute driver. Fed Ex was never penalized in any way for the massive safety breach, so far as I am aware.
@nicoletranger@MichaelOumano They apparently found the mysterious bucket sitting alone on the loading dock, hours after it had been left there by the driver. Seeing radiation symbols on the bucket, they decided to carry it by hand to RadOnc.
@Neclovian Wow. I can't imagine anyone rationally thinking this *wouldn't* be the inevitable outcome. What could they have possibly thought was going to happen, instead??
