What exactly does a company gain by refusing to address an issue after it has clearly outgrown the original statement?

When customers are still boycotting.
When every official post gets flooded with the same questions.
When community trust has deteriorated.
When moderation and PR now have to deal with the fallout constantly.
When people who want to give you money are deliberately refusing to do so until you communicate.
When you have already broken previous statements.

At what point does repeating “but they already made a statement” stop being an answer?

Companies issue follow-up statements. They clarify decisions. They respond when circumstances change. They manage crises precisely because letting an unresolved issue fester can become more expensive than addressing it.

So again:

What does Infold gain from continued silence if the situation has become operationally and reputationally costly?

Because “the cancellation was final” explains the decision they announced then.

It does not explain why silence is supposedly the smartest decision now.
