@afneil Or more accurately MPs who rubber stamped government tinkering with the tax system over decades. Presumably to appeal to various parts of the electorate at different times.
@AnnaLandmark@LandmarkTrust What lovely buildings! But sadly, like so many people, I'm way too poor to stay in Landmark Trust properties. A treat for the wealthy.
@amorousjazz That's the whole picture. Deliberately cuts off the Sweet Peas. Illustrated on p212 of Patricia Reeds catalogue. The same bowl is used in The Lustre Bowl with Green Peas ( Edinburgh) a fav of mine. Cheers.
@doctorjamesfox Agree. N has become my fav artist. Seems to have total control of what Americans call "values". Transformed my view of still life paintings. His small landscapes are miraculous too. We need a major retrospective !
@devisridhar Must be status. Probably the same reason so many of my colleagues buy flash cars they can barely afford. So perhaps it all boils down to personal insecurity.
@Botanygeek A far more interesting question might be "where are you going ?" especially in a horticultural context. The other is plain nosey with a possible racsist subtext. Never asked that of anyone. I was born in Wales myself.
