@DTWillingham Observation: students typing on chromebooks are too close to Roblox and Spotify.
It’s a struggle with me to type on screen with Youtube at my fingertips.
@ktibus@greg_ashman Last night I watched Shohei Ohtani strike out 3 times; is he gonna stop swinging?
You get cold-called to the plate and share a wrong answer, keep swinging.
@adamboxer1 Because our current curriculum (Eureka) doesn’t interleave the way Saxon(my favorite) does, I have to customize each homework assignment so it does.
This is my “off-season”(summer) work.
Homework looks like classwork, because it’s the same work.
@sendagenda @tombennett71 100% of my urban Los Angeles black&brown students who ask for a pencil last year had iPhones/game consoles.
If I can pick up a pencil from the schoolyard, so can they.
@tombennett71 I keep a pencil holder I made from driftwood filled with pencils I find on the school yard/hallways; it’s almost always full😂
They ask, I point towards it.
@P_A_Kirschner During our first PD(professional development) on Blended Learning, one of the moderators said, “College Professors love this because they don’t have to teach.”
🤦🏾♂️
Precisely; teachers who don’t teach.
@tombennett71 Groups work when there’s competition, like sports. But these same educationalists despise competition.
A visitor thinks they see an “engaged” classroom in groups but many are engaged about boys, girls, or Fortnight.
@erickalenze I’ve had former students from 15-20 years see me and say “You look the same!”
My not-so-secret: teaching middle school. Who needs “Abbot Elementary” when you live it every day?😂
@drhspeaks In every other profession 💰 is in the top 3.
When schools can hustle for teachers like 1st round draft choices or free agents seeking max contracts then we’ve gotten somewhere.
