@bakerultralite @georgedmadgwick Freezing the allowance bands means you’ll pay more tax over a few years. Eg. £12k (ish) allowance on £35k income means you pay 20% on £23k(ish). If the allowance went up to 13k, then you’d pay 20% on £22k, which is £200 less than before. These are ballpark figures…

@loosewomen FAO Janet. If someone in a care home is vaccinated, then the idea is that they can't get the virus. In which case, anyone can visit them anyway, including someone who might actually be infected.

@Rylan Dylan, you may have a point. Calling a GE would also allow voters to remove those MPs who have recently jumped ship and are trying to set up a new party without any authority or mandate from their constituency electorate.
