This Burnham campaign video deserves a retweet (and many more). Take a look at the vast (shady) money and professional media operation behind Reform. It’s going to be an existential battle.Wherever you stand on the Labour leadership, this seat must be won.

Why should audiences care about the BBC cuts?
Laura Davison, NUJ general secretary, said: "It's our BBC; it's a public service broadcaster - the clue is in the name. It belongs to us. There should be proper, transparent scrutiny of discussions between the BBC and the government about future funding."

Shocking
I v much fellow journos/ media give this story the coverage it deserves.
@nottspolice have lost he plot (I’m being generous) .
The #Calocane inquiry is exposing huge failings in #Notts#Police
Nottinghamshire Police tried to stop us reporting matters of public interest and when it didn't go the way they wanted it to, they reported us to our regulator.
Thankfully, IPSO saw sense and threw their complaint out. For the Chief Constable to say now that this was a mistake is quite frankly pathetic.
Instead of trying to protect their reputation, the force and Chief Constable should have been communicating properly with the people who really matter here - the families of the victims and the survivors of those horrific attacks.

Wisdom from Winston Churchill: “Never, never, never believe any war will be smooth and easy, or that any one who embarks on that strange voyage can measure the tides and hurricanes he will encounter. The Statesman who yields to war fever must realise that once the signal is given, he is no longer the master of policy but the slave of unforeseeable and uncontrollable events.”
The NUJ has responded to the BBC Charter consultation, calling for proper funding and worker representation on the BBC board.
“This is an historic opportunity for the government to be bold and back the BBC and its workers," said Laura Davison, NUJ general secretary.

Laura Davison, NUJ general secretary, said:
“Announcing what amounts to major cuts is wrong and premature. The NUJ...urges the BBC to put its time and energy into attaining a sufficient and sustainable funding settlement [through Charter Renewal]."
