i'm in love with this quote:
"if you're persistent, you'll get it. if you're consistent, you'll keep it. and if you're grateful, you'll attract more of it."
Your computer isn’t slow because it’s old.
It’s slow because Windows ships with 15+ hidden settings draining your speed by default.
Change these 9 and it will run like new again.
Most people have never touched them.
Thread 🧵
Who are 1158 Professors and Librarians?
We are meritorious candidates selected lawfully through a transparent, corruption-free 1158 recruitment process.
What’s the matter?
Despite our legal selection, the Punjab govt failed to defend us strongly in the Supreme Court.
What are we demanding?
#Justice_For_1158. A review petition—promised by Punjab govt on 18th August and even posted on their official X handle @PbGovtIndia.
What have we done?
Held numerous peaceful protests from 2022 to 2025.
We are left with no choice but to take to the streets.
And CM Bhagwant Mann Sahib?
@BhagwantMann
Not a single word for us—but daily boasts of 'Sikhya Kranti'.
Meanwhile, only 140 regular professors are left in govt colleges,
set to retire by 2026.
What did the Higher Education Minister do?
The Higher Education Minister @harjotbains has failed to stand by his own statements.
Any outcome?
No fruitful meetings. No justice.
Just betrayal by Aam Aadmi Party.
We will fight till the end until justice prevails.

#1158Professors stand on the edge of forced unemployment—not due to incompetence, but due to a government’s failure to act.
Two months since the Supreme Court ruling, the @PbGovtIndia hasn’t even filed a #ReviewPetition_1158.
Silence has become its cruelest policy.
@BhagwantMann
As Punjab battles floods,#1158AssistantProfessorAndLibrarians stand on the brink of losing their livelihoods—victims of the AAP govt’s apathy.
2 months since the Supreme Court verdict, still no review filed.
On Sept 15,2025(Mon),we will gherao CM @BhagwantMann's Sangrur residence
Punjab followed UGC norms
Punjab’s recruitment strictly adhered to UGC Regulations, whether from 2010 or 2018:

Sh. Bhagwant Singh Mann
Hon’ble Chief Minister, Punjab
Subject: Immediate Intervention Needed to Save 1158 Assistant Professors & Librarians Recruitment
Respected Sir,
On behalf of the North American Punjabi Association (NAPA), I write to you with deep concern and urgency over the future of 1158 Assistant Professors and Librarians whose recruitment now faces a grave threat.
Sir, this is not a case of casual employment — it is the very foundation of Punjab’s higher education that is at stake. These educators were selected through a process conducted in strict compliance with UGC norms, constitutional principles, and a merit-based system. They fulfilled every eligibility condition, underwent a transparent selection process, and made life-altering sacrifices to join the government service.
To leave them abandoned now would not only be an injustice to these highly qualified educators but a blow to the very soul of Punjab’s education system. Such an outcome would send a devastating message to our students and youth — that merit, commitment, and sacrifice no longer matter.
We respectfully urge you to immediately direct that a strong and well-prepared review petition be filed in the Hon’ble Supreme Court to defend this recruitment. Your decisive action will:
Save the livelihood of 1158 families
Protect the academic future of lakhs of students
Prevent the collapse of Punjab’s government colleges
Uphold the dignity and honour of educators who serve with dedication
Sir, Punjab’s history is filled with leaders who rose to the occasion when justice and the future of the people were on the line. This is one such moment. The silence of inaction will echo far longer than the noise of temporary challenges. We urge you to stand firmly with your educators, your students, and your state.
With hope and expectation,
Satnam Singh Chahal
Executive Director
North American Punjabi Association (NAPA)
This clip which was shared with me is about Shri Inder Jit Singh Sidhu of Chandigarh.
Apparently, every morning at 6 AM, in the quiet streets of Chandigarh’s sector 49, this 88-year-old retired police officer begins his day in service.
Armed with nothing but a cycle cart and an unwavering sense of duty, he moves slowly and purposefully, picking up rubbish from the roadside.
He says he wasn’t happy with the ‘low rank’ Chandigarh got in the Swachh Surekshan listing. But instead of complaining, he chooses action.
Each piece of trash he clears is more than just litter removed. It’s a statement. A quiet, persistent belief in a better world. A belief in living with meaning, regardless of age or recognition.
In a world often obsessed with youth and speed, his slow but steady footsteps tell us that Purpose doesn’t retire. Service doesn’t age.
A Salute to this quiet warrior of the streets. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
West Bengal CM @MamataOfficial took a clear stand same day to protect thousands of teachers & education.
Meanwhile,Punjab CM @BhagwantMann has maintained complete silence in media—no address—on SC verdict impacting 1158 professors.
Higher Education crisis looms.
