Last week, Argentina’s President Milei announced a new legal category for non-human corporations – companies run by #AI agents or robots. Like traditional corporations, they would be granted legal personhood. This could generate enormous new wealth, but very worryingly, it would also hand AIs an all-purpose key that grants access to our financial, economic and political systems. Jai Hind.
When I saw this video, my first thought was that the earth, very often, sends us messages.
This tree, facing constant winds, is still standing, & has neither fallen nor been uprooted.
Instead it’s been shaped by it.
And developed its own unique aesthetic & identity.
We have to recognize & accept that tough times & tragedies are part of the journey.
They don’t define us, they simply give us our own unique personalities & capacities…

A friend just sent me this delightful Extract from the book "Fools and Infantrymen" by Lt Gen Eric Alexander Vas, Col of the 9th Gorkha Rifles, and former Eastern Army Commander. There could be no more amusing statement of the best of India's religious pluralism -- and the diehard secularity of the Army.
Over to General Vas:
"When an army commander first visits the various states under his operational jurisdiction, it is customary to pay courtesy calls on the state's governor and chief minister. During my first visit to one of the north-eastern states, the Chief Minister held a public function and in his welcoming address said that the people should now feel safe as "the new army commander is a Christian".
"In my reply, after expressing thanks for the welcome, I reminded the public that my predecessor was a Jew; what he had done for the state would be difficult for me to match. I told them that military commanders operate according to military tasks laid down by the government, and we are not influenced by individual considerations of language, religion, or caste.. In conclusion, I said, "I was born a human being, by tradition I'm a Hindu, by training I'm a Catholic, by temperament I'm a Muslim, morally I'm attracted to Buddhism, and every time I have to shave I wish I was a Sikh."

My house-help lady informed me that her devar has been arrested by the Police after problems arose when he accumulated a loss of more than Rs.10 lakhs on an online betting app.
There are dangerous things happening due to mobiles + free internet + online betting + celebrity endorsements. This article by @kaul_vivek explains.
We, as a country, are fortunate to have many capable and sincere people within the system. With the right empowerment and recognition, they can drive meaningful and lasting change !
85% of India's police are constables. The clerk is invisible to everyone — except the citizen who needs him.
Sociologist Lenski called it Status Inconsistency: high power, low rank. The strain turns outward. Onto you.
A 2021 study found low power breeds paranoia — which breeds aggression. That hostile window clerk isn't a bad person. He's a predictable product of a broken system.
The Police Act of 1861 still governs how a constable meets a citizen in 2025.
When I became DGP Haryana, I didn't start with training. I started with dignity. Wrote to every jawan in Hindi: "You are the most important rank. The citizen at your gate is having a difficult day. Offer them a chair."
It worked. Because these are good people inside a broken design.
But goodwill has a shelf life.
Georgia after Rose Revolution recruited anew, raised salaries, tied promotion to conduct. Within 6 years — per Princeton's research — their police ranked 3rd most trusted institution in the country, after church and army.
The lesson isn't training. It's incentives.
Reward dignity. Recognise integrity. Link promotion to conduct.
Give them something to gain by being good. That's the reform. Everything else is noise.

Supreme Court hears case of a man removed from CISF service because of unauthorised absence:
ASG SD Sanjay: absence is of 11 days.
Justice BV Nagarathna: this is a case for imposing cost with dismissal. We have been shouting. Pendency, pendency. Who is the biggest litigant? His dismissal is disproportionate. High court granted him relief. Instead of giving opinion that you will not go to Supreme Court, you still proceed against him. What had we said in the SCBA function? (referring to SCBA’s national conference where Justice Nagarathna recently spoke extensively about government being responsible for case backlog). We will impose cost in this case. We do not find any reason whatsoever to interfere with the impugned order. We fail to understand as to why the Union of India and others have approached this court. We dismiss this SLP with cost of Rs. 25000.
Justice Nagarathna: we have taken the SCBA conference very seriously. It was not just to go to some resort and come back. We made preparations, we did homework. We spoke. Not to forget.

A film should truly be made on the life of Dr. Ganesh Bariya , GANESH BHAI MBBS.
Born with dwarfism, his journey was never easy. When he was just a child in primary school, circus agents once offered his father ₹5 lakh to take him away. But his father refused. Instead of selling him to the world, he chose to educate him and stand by his dreams.
Ganesh was brilliant in studies. He earned admission into medical college—but was rejected by the Medical Council simply because of his height.
But destiny had other plans.
In 2018, the Supreme Court ruled that denying him admission based on his physical stature was discrimination. That decision changed everything.
He went on to complete his MBBS from Bhavnagar Medical College in Gujarat, and today, Dr. Ganesh proudly serves as a consultant doctor in the same hospital.
From rejection to respect, from discrimination to dignity his story is not just inspiring, it’s a reminder that no dream is too big, and no person is too small to achieve it.
Some stories deserve not just applause… but a
Satinder Sartaaj is not just a singer he is a scholar of Persian (Farsi). His deep knowledge lets him sing the Zafarnama exactly as it was written.

Fun fact.
The Switzerlands largest supermarket, Migros, doesn’t sell alcohol or tobacco in stores, pays no dividends, caps profits by lowering prices if earnings exceeds 5%, is a cooperative with 2M+ members, and donates 1% of revenue to social projects, purely out of the founders moral philosophy
Vulgar. We cracked UPSC in 1988 and a few hugs from parents and friends life went on as usual. All bcoz it was still just another job, not as if u opened Kuber's treasure. I remember catching rickety UPSTC bus to Mussoorie from ISBT bcoz the AC bus was way out of reach.
