Horrific animal cruelty reported from Bhainsia village, Moradabad (Kashipur Chowki), Uttar Pradesh. A helpless dog was mercilessly stoned and left fighting for its life. A complaint has already been filed.

This is exactly why locking community dogs up in mass shelters never works.
The Bangalore Mirror expose on the Medi Agrahara facility is devastating. What was built as a shelter has inevitably become a sickness factory
due to zero sanitation and crowded confinement.

Street dogs don't belong packed into holding cages where diseases rip through them, they belong in their local areas under proper, humane ABC protocols (sterilize, vaccinate, and immediately return). Forcing them into these facilities is just a death sentence masquerading as welfare.

The administration needs to shut down this failed model, audit the site, and focus on proper on-site community management instead.

India has long guided the world through the timeless civilisational principle of ॐ "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" - The World Is One Family.

As a nation that reveres animals in its cultural, constitutional, and spiritual traditions, it is important that public policy continues to reflect the values of compassion, coexistence, and scientific governance for Animals.

Yet today, community animals daily face displacement, illegal relocation, cruelty, and neglect, abuse, tortire, murder, while compassionate caregivers face harassment, assault for simply helping voiceless beings under Article 51 A G of Indian Constitution to protect Animals & Environment.

The scientifically accepted solution is not mass removal or confinement of Animals. The ABC Rules, 2023 promote the proven #CSVR model - Capture, Sterilise, Vaccinate, Release. Large-scale sterilisation, anti-rabies vaccination, and public awareness are globally recognised methods for reducing risk and stabilising animal populations under the One Health approach.

India needs stronger implementation of animal welfare laws and long-pending reforms to the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.

A truly developed nation is judged not only by how it protects people, but also by how it treats its most vulnerable and voiceless beings. Compassion, accountability, and coexistence must remain at the heart of India's progress.
