Does anyone remember the time when Pratibha Patil was announced as the UPA’s choice for President?
All those stories that did the rounds of her being the roti maker of the Gandhi Family?
The questions raised about her family and the institutions they ran?
Well, Sonia Maino Gandhi gave a damn and saw to it that her candidate went to Rashtrapati Bhavan.
And then there was the Salman Khurshid episode. Remember the wheelchair scandal involving the trust run by Khurshid and his wife?
India Today reported allegations of forged signatures and seals and irregularities in the distribution of aids to the disabled; the government subsequently stopped fresh grants to the trust.
And what happened politically?
Sonia Maino Gandhi gave a damn and Khurshid was given the External Affairs portfolio in the 2012 reshuffle, despite the controversy.
Yes, little Kalmadi was jailed, and dandy Patil resigned as did a few others.
But there was no systemic cleansing. Apparently, not enough to stop business as usual.
The larger machinery carried on until 2014, when the enraged electorate delivered its verdict and the Congress was given a kick on its backside that sent it packing.
A kick from which Rahul Gandhi is still to recover.
So my advice to the BJP would be (not that they asked me): Certainly remove, sack, admonish those *you* think have crossed the line.
Give your supporters the government they elected you to provide.
Do the cleaning where it is warranted, and do it without being intimidated by the noise.
And as for these cockroaches - Use HIT.
One of the finest things that China did in this century was to show the western media machinery its rightful place. India will pay a big price for not doing the same one day..!
Dear Hindus,
I knew very little about your religion.
I was so immersed in studying the Abrahamic faiths because I’m insanely in love with the Holy Bible that I never gave myself enough time to learn about Hinduism.
But through my friendship with the Hindu community in the UAE, I have encountered something that means a great deal to me: a profound respect for human life, coexistence, and building together.
That alone is enough for me to approach you with respect and a genuine desire to learn more.
The God I believe in is the God of Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, and Jacob, the God whom the prophets called the God of Israel.
Israel was the personal name given to Jacob in the biblical tradition by my Creator, and his descendants became known as the Children of Israel. The Jewish people trace their identity and history through this ancient Israelite heritage and their deep connection to the Land of Israel, including Judea.
And I believe my Creator wants us to work together around what we share rather than kill one another over where we differ.
We can thrive together.
We can build together.
We can prosper together.
God will judge us when we die. Until then, we have been given this beautiful planet and the opportunity to know one another, help one another, and as Michael Jackson so beautifully urged humanity to heal the world and make it a better place.
As a proud friend of the Hindu community in the UAE, I wish you nothing but the best. I hope we continue building together, investing together in AI and high tech, advancing science and innovation, and making our beloved UAE as close to heaven on Earth as human beings can make it.
This is what I believe my God and Creator, the God of Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, and Jacob wants from me.
And I will do my best to fulfill it.
Its about having a clear sense of what is right , where the lines need to be drawn and what one needs to prioritise. For some it comes at quite an early age like yours ! Some gain it via experience.. key is being able to detach self and not let SM rule the mind , logic and self judgement.
The Omani pilot asked the Indian pilot if he could leave his seat to pray and after being granted permission, he attacked the Captain with the axe from behind.
This is actually a great metaphor for the west.
@smitaprakash Spot on !! And our own left liberals and the radicalised media and a bunch of political dimwits twist the truth, they would have loved had it been the opposite scenario
Bill Maher nails it. When it’s staring at you in the face and yet you don’t want to report it because of your ideological leanings then you are not a reporter.
There is nothing uncool and honestly very warm when you are able to strike a chord with a stranger and have a conversation.
But whats not cool and is irritating is when it becomes too loud and at the cost of intruding others privacy , peace and silence..
A lady and a man, were chattering non stop in my cbe to mumbai flight..they were seated 2 seats behind , but it bet almost upto 10 rows could hear them . So loud , totally oblivious that how very noisy and poking they were. Topics ranging from political, family , snacking, marriage , weather...blah blah blah.. educated and upper class folks. Still dont seem to have some basic etiquette..
For sometime, I was like, they may stop in a while..but it went on and on and on.. could see the other fellow passengers also equally irritated and looking at each other..but none ready to nudge them to lower their voice.
Finally I had to stand up , and request them to be more considerate. They did , lower a bit..but i guess they still had that smug expression that they paid for the tickets and can rule the entire plane..
Such inconsiderate souls.
@IsraeliPM@narendramodi Twist of fate and Twost of Faith..how aptly described.
Its miraculous to see how events unfold in minutes and yet some people have the mind , courage and presence of mind to do what is seemingly impossible..
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a conversation with the Indian pilot from the flight from Dubai, Captain Smit Machchhar:
"You are a hero for Israel, India, and the entire world. I invite Prime Minister @NarendraModi and you to light a flame on Israeli Independence Day." 🇮🇱🇮🇳
During the emotional conversation that took place this evening, the Prime Minister asked Captain Machchhar how it all started, and Machchhar revealed new details about the terrifying moments in the cockpit.
Listening how Capt Smit, bleeding and almost blinded, still managed to open the cockpit door not once but twice...
On the first day, remember asking my pilot husband why the cabin crew could not open it from outside using the access code
He said that the pilot could deny access and that is exactly what that terrorist co pilot did
Imagine the courage, effort & inner strength it took for Capt Smit Machchhar to still get to that door and twist the knob for passengers to enter
Shame on everyone who spun false flag theories to take away from Capt Smit's incredible bravery that saved hundreds from a terror attack
Awaiting Ashok Chakra for our Hero 🫡🇮🇳
Why did the Israeli passengers react so quickly? Why did the Indian pilot summon the extraordinary courage to open that latch? Perhaps because people who have lived with conflict, terrorism and religious extremism develop a sharper sense of danger. They recognise when something is not normal, and, crucially, when normal rules may no longer apply.
Passengers are conditioned to obey the crew in an emergency. These passengers didn’t blindly do so. When the crew reportedly wanted them to untie the rogue pilot, they hesitated. They were suspicious. And they were right to be.
The pilot was reportedly yelling, “Kill me.” Had he been allowed to harm himself with a cord, a crucial witness and perhaps the only person who could fully explain what happened in that cockpit could have been lost.
Sometimes survival depends not on following instructions, but on recognising when the situation demands that you question them.
