Russia just extended its diesel export ban through Jan 31, with only limited exemptions. Diesel's already at $6.35 a gallon nationally. Don't count on relief at the pump this winter. Know your cost per mile. #truckers#diesel https://t.co/uCgQN13hmA
Chains are up on I-80 over Donner. Caltrans has chains required for all trucks Kingvale to Truckee, and westbound rigs have to stop at the Nyack brake check. Chain up early and stay safe out there. https://t.co/13uoMnPYDN #trucking#truckers
Ohio is downgrading about 3,000 more non-domiciled CDLs, letters going out with a 30-day clock. 2,000 already pulled. Louisiana and Wyoming won't resume issuing either. Check your paperwork, drivers. https://t.co/n4kT8IcIZv #trucking#CDL
@Vanhacked@marklevinshow@elonmusk It’s not boring. It’s just for smart people. It seems you’re dumb, and dumb people find intelligent talk shows boring. 🥴
Broker transparency rule has been sitting at the White House 2+ months. We've been asking to see what the shipper actually paid since 2020. Let it out. https://t.co/1mjd2jkDDc #trucking#truckers
🚨 BREAKING: Trump says Putin agreed to ship 300,000 tons of diesel now, 500,000 more in November, 1M after that and up to 3M total, with Treasury temporarily lifting sanctions on Russian diesel. He's promising truckers diesel prices "COMING DOWN, IN RECORD NUMBERS, AND FAST!" Analysts aren't so sure. We'll see it at the pump. ⛽🚛
@Land_Line_Mag What would actually help small carriers: fuel surcharges that reset weekly, not monthly, and brokers passing the full FSC through. At ~98 cents a mile in fuel, a two-week lag can wipe out the profit on a load. Washington, start there. - DiamondPac
@FreightWaves Can confirm from the seat. Fuel is near $1 a mile at today's prices, and a new owner-op has to front it on 30-day pay. A 3,000-mile week is roughly $2,900 in diesel before the first check clears. Quick pay and honest surcharges would bring more folks in.
@business From the driver's seat: behind on production is the least of it. Who gets the call when one breaks down on the shoulder at 2am? Who's liable in a wreck? And what's the plan for the guys whose lanes these trucks are built to take? Just want it fair.
@WSJ Driving one now. A big rig isn't a car scaled up: 80,000 lbs, black ice, a blown steer tire, a work zone that moved overnight. Before these go mainstream, show us the crash data in rain and snow, and tell us what happens to the drivers who keep this country fed.
@GasBuddyGuy At $6.34 diesel and about 6.5 mpg, fuel alone runs close to a dollar a mile. Big fleets have fuel desks and surcharges that reset weekly. A one-truck operator eats the gap until the surcharge catches up. That's who's parking trucks right now.
NHTSA wants driverless trucks to run 4 to 8 blue-green marker lights that show when the robot's driving. Would you trust it next to you on I-10? #trucking#autonomoustrucks
Diesel is averaging $6.35 a gallon, and fuel execs say tight refining and pipeline capacity will keep it high into spring 2027. Know your cost per mile, drivers. #trucking#truckers#dieselprices
Recall alert: Paccar is recalling about 310 model year 2027 Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks because sleeper bunk restraints may not be secured. Dealers fix it free. Check your truck, drivers. #trucking#Kenworth#Peterbilt
75 driverless trucks are headed for I-10 (Dallas to El Paso) and I-20 (Dallas to Atlanta). DTL Transport just signed with Kodiak to run self-driving rigs in its own fleet. Would you share the road with them? #trucking#autonomoustrucks
221 trucking companies have filed bankruptcy this year. Diesel, insurance and debt are crushing small carriers, and almost 40% say they may be out in 6 months. Hang in there, drivers. #trucking#truckers
Diesel's over $6 and DC is finally doing something about it. Trump's putting $150M into more American refining and gutting Biden's oil and gas red tape. More fuel made here means cheaper freight and cheaper groceries. Drill, refine, haul. 🇺🇸 https://t.co/5DzJwdpu0i
Finally somebody in DC remembers who keeps the shelves stocked. Sec. Duffy just dropped $200M to expand truck parking in 12 states. Fewer nights parked on a ramp, safer roads for everybody. That's what putting truckers first looks like. https://t.co/nUBYQlvvAo
@skumWgmi@Juan48609608 Pay his bills and your rent, and then you can demand part ownership. You’re not entitled to anything. He’s offering a service: a place to live. If you can’t afford it, move out.
