Darkstar Was a Catspaw Sent by Quentyn to Kill Rosamund Using Profits From His Dornish Lemon Farmers so he Could Secretly Marry Myrcella & Claim the Iron Throne
A "dead franchise" is about to get a 100k likes in 5 hours. Terminally online HBO execs need to realize no one cares what the always malcontent stans, purists and gatekeepers of the fandom are whining about, the general public is starving for more AWOIAF content.
Mentally, I'm still here - Clare Kilner using a mist of blood in the opening and a puddle of blood in the ending of the episode is so visually cyclical and fucking INCREDIBLE thematically man
She needs statues built in her honor, I'm so serious
Not lost on me at all that while the impact of pointless violence and murder and loss is felt on Baela and Corlys and Rhaenyra and more...Daemon is gleefully singing songs about glorifying all that and he and Aemond take pride throughout the episode in taking lives.
re: the alys and daemon scene, i think she just basically overplayed her hand and daemon later realizes that she WAS playing him when he talks to the dragonseeds and discovers she sent them packing - i.e. simon was always going to be a goner and she likely knew that
I like Rings of Power, I really do. But after the newest House of the Dragon episode it’s hard not to wish RoP had even a fraction of that quality. The camerawork, the weight of the scenes, the scale, the acting, everything feels sharper and more confident.
@Jeeshadow1 lmao like in what world would rhaenicent hating each other make this more interesting? this craving for black and white good vs evil is so boooooring
The A.V. Club let me put my British history degree to use to unpack why I hated Game of Thrones and love House of the Dragon. Despite the shared world, they're shows in entirely different genres with entirely different sets of intentions! https://t.co/IXJ6t3PIje
even rhaenyra’s most badass moment in getting the dragons in s2 and flexing so hard aemond is forced to flee there’s still the horror right under the surface of rhaenyra sacrificing dozens of innocent ppl to get her to that place
bc when s7 came and they suddenly wanted audiences to be wary of dany’s violence it fell flat bc they had trained fans to be thrilled by dany’s violence not horrified by it. and hotd doesn’t really have that issue
It’s not as spectacular or as action-packed as the season opener, but moments of real drama and strategic progress still make House of the Dragon Season 3, Episode 2 feel like essential viewing.

Viwes on preview for E3 are doing much better than Weeks ahead trailer after E1.
WOM is spreading, organic hype and momentum.
Feels like what happened during AKOTSK S1.
spoke to HOUSE OF THE DRAGON's prolific director Clare Kilner about the weight of Rhaenyra's actions in episode 2 & why she wanted to film the closing scene the way she did:

Qué gran momento para ser fan de este universo.
La primera temporada de A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms ya fue histórica, y esta tercera de House of the Dragon sigue ese camino.
Y lo mejor de todo es que se vienen más proyectos igual de prometedores como la Conquista de Aegon.
