Rupert Lowe has over 850,000 "followers" on X - one of the most of any British political figure, all his posts are highly botted with 10,000s of likes. His party barely scraped 3000 votes and have never come close to winning a seat. Not even Rupert's own seat was won as part of Restore.

Faking engagement to convince people of popularity in the manner he does is election fraud. It is also incredibly likely all this is foreign funded, and undeclared - again, election fraud.

A massive narrative shift is happening on the war in Ukraine.

After more than four years of full-scale war, the world is finally realizing that Russia is in deep trouble, cannot meet its strategic goals, and is on a clear path to a pathetic defeat.

The illusion of an unstoppable Russian war machine has shattered. Look at the actual data from this full-scale invasion, which has now lasted for well over four years. Russia has failed to take even one regional capital or special status city out of the 23 that Ukraine controlled at the beginning of the full-scale war. Ukraine still holds all 23 of them today. 0/23 is the worst possible result for Russia.

Until recently, some observers believed that Russia would eventually win through a slow war of attrition. The lazy assumption was that Moscow could just throw endless resources at the front until Ukraine broke. But people are now realizing that this was a flawed calculation. Russia is failing hard, and their capacity to sustain this war is hitting a wall.

The tide has turned, and things will only get worse for the Kremlin from here on out. However, we cannot mistake Russian failure for an immediate peace. The war will still last for some time, and a desperate Russia will continue to inflict severe pain and suffering on innocent people. The destination is clear, but the journey is going to be tough. Anyone who says Russia is not our enemy is either a useful idiot or a paid shill.

I'm saying this as someone with British and Russian passports in my drawer, who spent a huge chunk of his life there, probably half his career.

I watched Russia transform from a communist dictatorship to the wild capitalist mess of the 1990s, and back into a dictatorship. My parents are still in Moscow. They spent most of their lives quietly dismantling the Soviet Union from within, and they tell me Vladimir Putin's regime is an order of magnitude more vicious and less honourable than the Soviet dictatorship ever was.

This is a country of over 100 million people where state propaganda pumps neo-imperialist, resentment-driven ideology into everyone's heads, in methods not that dissimilar to Hamas in Gaza. It produces 30,000 volunteers, easy, willing and happy to kill Ukrainians for money.

They genuinely believe they're fighting Nazism and @NATO. They genuinely believe that in their offensive operations against Ukraine, they're actually defending Russia.

And it's not a Third World banana republic. Not by any stretch of imagination. It can build factories, real estate, and weapons. Its ballistic missile programmes have enough original science and research there to make their defence R&D genuinely dangerous.

So you have an adversary with the will to fight and the ideology that supports it. You have an enemy who can generate the human forces to conduct military operations, the cash to pay people to die, to pay scientists to research, to pay companies to manufacture weapons - ballistic missiles to submarines, the entire production cycle.

And you have an army that's probably the most combat-tested in Europe after Ukraine's. If Russian forces came into contact with NATO in a conventional, WWI-slash-WWII-plus-drones type conflict, it would take months if not years until we'd figure out how to actually fight them.

Any military analyst will tell you that if a country has the intention, the resources, and the capability to prosecute a war, they will do so.

Russia is our enemy.

And our @UKLabour government, which understands this full well, isn't investing enough in our defence forces to get them ready for the war that will happen - that is guaranteed to happen.

Unless we rearm to a level where even the most cynical calculation by the most ruthless dictator would work out that attacking NATO's European flank, with the UK in it, would exact such an enormous cost that Vladimir Putin would think twice before doing it.
