It has been a 4 years since we started Dig To Share and to get an understanding of how things may have changed across the industry, in terms of the use/sharing of ground investigation data and the use of the data hosted within the BGS Geoindex we have put together a survey! 1/2

A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between the @BritGeoSurvey and @HighwaysEngland to provide open access borehole data to the industry. This sits alongside the Data Sharing Agreements already in place with the Environment Agency, Welsh Government and Network Rail!

BGS & @HighwaysEngland signed a Memorandum of Understanding to provide open access borehole data to industry, providing geological descriptions, thickness of formations and material properties of soils and rocks which can be used to inform engineering & construction projects.

We have just released a new Data Sharing Agreement between @BritGeoSurvey and @WelshGovernment that is now available to view on the BGS website. For all Welsh Government funded projects, Ground Investigation data should be shared with the BGS as #opendata
