@RayMoffo@bsbr666 Nothing against the Flyers. I just don’t think they’d be in his top three. I’m guessing he’d like to think of himself more as a “final piece of the puzzle“ at 30. He’s already been on the “promise” train for a while.
@Anth_Chatburn Here’s my question: at this particular point in time, is Danny hell-bent on getting at least one of these five in THIS off-season? Or is he willing to kick the can down the road one more year? Bc a trade of that magnitude is going to require a lot of time and energy.
@bsbr666@RayMoffo His cap hit is a legitimate piece of the equation. But the reason I think the Flyers won’t get him, is that I don’t think they are on Larkin shortlist, and as I understand it he controls that.
@Anth_Chatburn Depends on how you define win. Next step is a perennial playoff team which could in parallel continue to insert young players strategically. Things are rarely as binary as they appear IMO.
You’re back-and-forth is always refreshing btw👍 Don’t waste time and energy on m-kink
@Zeusmtl94@Mattymar89 Cates is an NHL C that is likely valued more within NHL circles than external fan bases. For DET/PHI, i’m assuming he would be required to be included in the deal.
@Anth_Chatburn That’s where I disagree. I see it as the team gaining the ability to wait for a young top C to either emerge or arrive via another channel. In the meantime, the rest of the youth is being indoctrinated into a solid foundation. And Larkin’s contract gets more attractive by the yr.
@BeeTEE15 I have no dream lines with Michkov on them until he shows he can skate and compete at a level to play in these kind of games. But I’m still cautiously positive. This off-season is key for him.
@TheLibertyYell This is not your Covid cap era. Spreads out the cap hit in a steeply rising environment for a team guy that should both be good in the short run, and a nice bridge to the next one who we hope is Zavragin.
@Raiderfrank65 🎯 i’ve always just loved the sport, and watching it at a world class level where the stakes are the highest, with my son, is the pinnacle, regardless of the markets involved. And making it even more enjoyable was watching the HNIC crew broadcast it, analytical and no-frills.
@RearAdBsBlog A real hockey fan is just looking for world class hockey. They don’t care where it comes from. Casuals care about the peripheral stuff. Hard cores don’t.
