@RobMills91@TerryFranconia I think Smitty can easily get to 1,200-1,300 yards. He produced at that rate in games where AJB was not playing, despite PHI's dysfunctional offense under Sirianni + Patullo.
Smitty could have a JSN season, in which case very little else matters.
I’d love to see Lemon get at least 800 yards, which seems pretty achievable given that there are 75-100 targets coming his way & Mannion seems pretty focused on YAC & scheming guys open vs hero ball all the time
@mustbebehr@TerryFranconia He put up 580 yards on 58 targets as a rookie WR3.
He was terrible last season, but it isn’t like 450 is some crazy outperformance of what he’s done. It’s basically an “average” year for him (1,328 yards / 108 catches over 3 yrs)
@TheBirdsBlitz Physical WRs with knee issues tend to have a far less graceful decline. He will likely have a strong start to the season & be on his best behavior.
Enjoy the honeymoon. AJB - if he’s right - is a top-5 talent at WR. That being said, he’s mercurial & he’s self-obsessed. He pretty clearly lost a step last season, which is backed up by his separation data. His knee has been a problem for years. He’s 29.
I think he’s going to have a fast start to the season, but I also think he’s going to be frustrated when Maye spreads the ball around. Not at first, but as the season progresses.
It seems like both teams got what they wanted in the deal.
@TerryFranconia Just need to keep him around. If there’s been one issue with this iteration of the team, it’s that the offensive staff has been so inconsistent & allowed Sirianni to have too much influence.
At the end of the day, the only question for Philly is whether Wicks + Lemon + Mannion can be an upgrade over Smith + Dotson + Patullo.
Smitty is going to have a monster year. Saquon has historically alternated between ok/good years & great years. Last year was ok.
The defense has the best CB trio in the NFL (Q, Riq & DeJean), plus Greenard is an upgrade. Love Phillips but I am terrified of his injury history. Losing Reed & Nakobe hurts, but Campbell is a stud. I think Howie will add another S before the season starts.
The 5th Amendment exists.
The real effect of this: it would destroy ~20% to ~45% of the value of every investment in your brokerage account, 401(k) or IRA. It would make the US government (in whatever form/fashion this bill decides) the controlling shareholders in the entire technology sector. And - most critically - it would relegate every entrepreneur who spends his/her life building something from an owner to a temporary custodian.
The fact that this was even entertained sickens me as someone who has come from relatively little. It's the most Anti-American idea I've ever heard.
@BernieSanders is not fit to be a sitting United States Senator. We're well past the point where his antics are those of a kooky old wanna-be socialist.
I will soon be introducing a bill to give the public a 50% ownership stake in the largest AI companies in America.
This would guarantee that the trillions created by AI are used to improve the lives of all of us — and block oligarch decisions that harm the American people.
This is the kind of trade (player for a 1st) that Howie has consistently won. In the short term, the WR room is less talented today than it was yesterday morning. There's no doubt.
Long term? I have questions about AJ's knee + his longevity. I think he's going to have a fast start in NE, but if the losses start piling up and Maye continues spreading the ball around, I think NE could come to regret this move.
I hope he makes them restructure his deal + gets a bag.
@vegaschris41233@joepezz_@mansasimba I’m sure his agent told him to maximize his leverage. He was coming off a SB & All-Pro season. No reason not to collect a bag.
If you had a chance to ink $84M in guaranteed $$ would you take it?
