Jacquelyn Love was a force for good in Deptford for generations. It saddened me to hear of her passing and I’m thinking of her family.
She paved the way for others as a black, female deputy mayor in the 80s, and long remained a champion for civil rights, faith, the disabled, and many more throughout her life. Her son Wayne's leadership on the Deptford council is a testament to how she inspired others to serve, too.
Rest in peace, Jacquelyn.

With the National Park Service facing budget cuts as our nation prepares for its 250th anniversary, this administration should be strengthening these historic sites, not censoring them to erase the past.
Philadelphia and the entire country deserve an honest accounting of our history, and this effort to hide it is wrong.”
