Lot of talk about Jac in the Derby (yes). But more importantly he should be getting a ton of votes to be an all star. He should without a doubt be in Philly with Bob (and Wacha and Lynch and Schreiber)
@AndyTFE very much looking forward to your thoughts on new setup on the pod. To me, close to ideal but lack of in-season promotion/relegation is a huge miss plus 90 retaining "championship" series status is too much
@RickRunGood I think this is close to ideal but lack of promotion/relegation between the two series during the season is a big miss. And 90 players maintaining "championship" series status is too much.
I think this is best for casual fans but the "challenger" series is definitely just a step up from the current Korn Ferry tour. If there was more promotion/relegation in-season, this would be close to perfect.
Pros: 120-player fields with a cut and match play for postseason
Cons: lack of pathway for promotion/relegation during that season plus at least 90 "championship" series golfers maintain status. So far less turnover
As disastrous a ruling as there has ever been in modern sports. The pathway is now clear: gamble as much as you like, including on your own team and hope you are--or get--good enough that you can lawyer up down the line. A much bigger disaster than anything with NIL or portal.
The whole 82-0 phenomenon reinforces that whole bit about how the only thing a bunch of dudes need in order to have a good time is to sit around announcing the names of a bunch of old athletes.
I don't think enough people realize just how restive Iowa voters are getting during Trump's second term. Last night gave us some powerful omens, however.
The latest at @NRO:
@AndrewKSchlecht will there be a Down to Dunk pod today? Need something to get away from this cesspool of takes on here about what the Thunder should do!
Listening to the interviews today, it’s actually so insane that people hate this team. All of these guys say the right things, play for each other, the organization and the fans. We went wrong somewhere if this is what we hate now.
Was tactfully honest that Chet has to better without tearing him down, took ownership that he himself needs to be better too, and built Chet up and let the whole world know he trusts Chet to learn from this and put in the work to come out better bc of this. Leadership.
Okc was 11-10 this year when both Jalen Williams and Ajay Mitchell did not play. That means when at least one of them played this year they were 53-8. It seems like they make a little bit of a difference.
