QUICK CUTS: As robotics grows, are surgeons losing essential laparoscopic skills?
At SAGES 2026 (@SAGES_Updates), Dr. Caroline Reinke discusses the evolving balance between robotic and laparoscopic training—and why preserving core laparoscopic skills still matters in modern surgery.
From emergency cases to limited robotic access, the conversation highlights a reality many surgeons are beginning to notice: not every operation needs a robot, and not every hospital has one available when it matters most.
As surgical technology continues to advance, the challenge becomes making sure innovation expands surgical capability without replacing foundational operative skills.
New full episodes drop Mondays at 8:00 PM Eastern—only on the SurgeOn app.
