551 movies you purchased with your hard-earned CASH to be deleted by Sony. Ok, so you've bought it all digitally. And therein lies the problem.
I've mentioned this for at least 2 decades. Physical media is the ONLY way you can actually "own" something after you've paid for it, ie. discs, tapes, microchife, puka shells, quipus, Sumerian scrolls, etc.
Anyone who believes that "buying something digitally" makes you an actual owner of such digital purchase, unfortunately, hasn't paid attention how contract laws work. ---> today, unfortunately, "title libraries" exist, and unfortunately too, those libraries, due to their immense value, are often moved around, from owner to owner. It's quite a wild and INSANE "title trade" out there... And it all happens while YOU are being pulled over the table, and you go along with it, like you did. And now, what you thought you owned, ain't yours any more.
Once a conglomerate "loses," or then, "releases" their title library to an even higher bidder (which ain't you, I'm sorry, buddy) then it's bad news for everyone who digitally paid for (a) particular title(s) in such a library.
Unfortunately, you never actually "owned" the item, since you purchased it in "digital" form and it was purchased on a platform that is essentially smoke and mirrors and you did not take the time to read the fine print. Always, always, always read the fine print. I guarantee you, it was there.
In other words, the title for which you forked over your hard-earned cash, was a mirage, dropped in your mirage library, living in the mirage cloud. The "cloud" and anything "digital" you "purchase" is a mirage. It. Does. Not. Exist. Go look up "mirage" now, because some netizens apparently aren't aware what a mirage is, either. CLIFF NOTES: A mirage does not exist.
