This is what Burbea was referring to with Eros, the cultivation of authentic desire, an open pull towards beauty and truth in contrast to contracted and insatiable desire
@CurtTigges when stress and anxiety diminish greatly it can take time to realize that you now have freedom to build and act from a motivational system you want to have rather than the one you inherit from your reactivity
What an eloquent and relatable description of the emptiness of everything, including emptiness itself. This stuff is hard to describe but @theseeker pulls it off without breaking a sweat
The reason you can't get through to your dad at dinner.
The reason your old self feels like a stranger after the shift.
The reason growth keeps arriving as both beauty and breakage

The want for one technique (IFS, Jhanas,) to solve everything is driven by avoidance.
There's always going to be new challenges that require a different approach, and that's what's beautiful about life. Always new opportunities. The dance is never done.
@RogerThisdell It's probably best to think of this as a vector of decentralisation vs. concrete states of mind to land on. Else we risk reifying our sub-minds / parts and the medicine becomes the poison
“I sing the body electric” (Whitman via Rob Burbea) is such a great metaphor for the lower Jhanas. Absorption can feel like a current that lights us up; and the Samadhi it cultivates can feel like our sub-minds unifying, attuning together in a single choir
IFS work can reveal the many voices within us. Insight work reveals that even our "CEO", the one claiming to oversee them all, is an empty construction. When that illusion dissolves, mind decentralises. Experience flows freely, like a distributed network of being.
Reminder: it is possible to decentralise your mind, which comes with amazing existential benefits, such as a lack of dissatisfaction felt in the heart of being.
From hive mind to hive mind, I highly recommend this consciousness upgrade.
@samuelgil It is amazing to watch how fast the narrative on btc is changing these days. More acceleration ahead imo. Allocating to btc was the contrarian thing to do, soon it will be contrarian to not do so.

When a crooked politician calls me traitor, ask yourself: who did I betray? The courts have ruled repeatedly that the programs I revealed were unlawful, and likely unconstitutional—a violation of your rights.
If this is treason, what they call loyalty is a crime.
@robbiebent1 His design is kooky af, but his insights are great.
I guess the question is if you want it to be more entertainment or more meditation. I'd argue that the two are polar opposites. Entertainment often seeks dissociation (e.g. loud music), meditation seeks embodiment.
@robbiebent1 Osho developed Dynamic Meditation in the 70s around the insight that Shamata/Vipassana style meditation was "too difficult" for modern people. Maybe some inspiration to be found there. Music and breathwork are parts of the process.
