The map can contain a perfect drawing of the mapmaker.
It can label the drawing “me.”
It can even describe its own uncertainty about whether the drawing is real.
But the mapmaker is not in the map.

@FeistyKittyPie i can see that in theory but imo reactive types end up being so shortsighted by their dysregulation that they are almost always reacting to what doesn't matter long term, burning all their stress budget on nothing
@demiurgently many times what people call high openness is just damaged boundaries. other times its just larping because it became associated with intelligence
actual high openness doesn't really look like openness that much
@schuchert would it be too gross of a simplification saying that somatic work is about tightening coupling and increasing resource flow (usually by stimulating)?
my theory is that "attention" works as a coupling mechanism and if for some reason you learned to avert attention from some part of your body (probably because its uncomfortable or painful), then that region gets decoupled over time, making it that usual maintenance doesn't work properly and over time it might get so out of alignment with the body that it becomes cancerous (or attacked by immune system)
@schuchert yeah, tbh I don't feel like this an "original" thought. feels like I got that conclusion just by absorving context. it's likely that many people are thinking the same
@vividvoid it's insane that i went from being an atheist to a version of this
although mine transcends the local/non local duality (or it will when its complete)
from an individual POV, being part of a hive mind would probably perceived as mainly being very good at mind reading and very safe to be mind-read. and counterintuitively, that would mean you gain autonomy and individuality
i am always confused when people talk about contemporaneous china without considering this (or this being in context). no matter how you look at China's strength as producers this simply can't be seen as a win for central planning
isn't it common knowledge that the chinese ascension in the last few decades was due to the implementation of special economic zones?
it is quite likely the biggest admission of defeat from communists. they literally had to implement zones with free markets to not keep starving
@TheAliceSmith I think we should do it with two superpowers. How about USA v China? It’s obvious China wins. Americans are worse off than 1990 and Chinese are better off. America is always at war. China never is.
