Excited to introduce the world’s first AI interviewer, gpt-vetting.
With gpt-vetting, you can interview 100x more candidates in less time & candidates get a more enjoyable, gamified, and less biased interview experience.
You define the skills you want the interview to focus on, gpt-vetting asks verbal questions, and then jumps into a coding exercise. You then review the report that includes an AI assessment of each tech stack, and a trust score.
In its beta, gpt-vetting has already conducted 13,000 AI interviews, saving ~10k hours for software engineers who would otherwise be conducting technical interviews.
@jarredsumner That's... unfortunate. If a dev expects something to break by convention, it should break by convention - if I saw this in a PR it would definitely not be approved
@josef__wilhelm@its_me_stefan I mean, @expo is pretty great. Solves all the devex issues, and you can use RN with existing knowledge of react instead of having to learn a new language + framework.
The lesson from the xz fiasco is that investments in maintenance and sustainability are unsexy and probably won't get a middle manager their promotion but pay off a thousandfold over many years.
But try selling that to a bean counter
As a software engineer, it's your job to feel stupid regularly. It's your job to break things all the time.
I hate to say "toughen up" like it's clear and actionable advice, but it is necessary to enjoy your career as a dev. I'm lucky, my skateboard taught me to love failure.
@NicholasLYang I go through the same with Google Maps. I can navigate *anywhere on the planet* within a couple of seconds? With live traffic information? With search for places? AND street view????? Incredible
@captbaritone "It involved reverse engineering the byte byte code for a custom scripting language and writing a JavaScript VM to execute said byte code."
I'm so, so sorry.
