Pretty sure Sotomayor or Jackson contact progressive media and ask them how they are going to spin a Supreme Court decision in the most legally stupid way and then they legitimize it in their dissent.
Get to know the priest. Invite them to dinner and do a house blessing. It works in 80% of cases.
The paperwork is for the CEO catholics and getting the sacraments to get the Abuela off the back Catholics. Every now and then you get a no exceptions parish, but most parishes are happy to waive requirements for devout Catholics.
When you don't know poor people: let's give them a helping hand, no strings attached.
When you know poor people: They make terrible decisions and they will make terrible decisions with anything you give them. So any help must come with burdensome requirements that force good decisions.
Why does the teacher describe in detail the least controversial opinions about the French and Mexican revolution and give no description of the bombshell that slavery is good?
Because the teacher is making up the controversial stuff to try to make the student into a fascist and not just someone whose opinion on history doesn't support progressive shibboleths.
@st_louis_stan Unfortunately their stated preferences are enforced in the dating app world. You have to actually meet the woman to have a chance of bypassing the preference.
@sanson_ganbaru Every package of rice in the USA comes with pot cooking directions. Every package I have seen has you add the rice along with the water, not after it boils. So it may not be universal but I believe the USA largely is in line with Japan.
@johnehrett I love these because while most are jokes making fun of people with a bit of tism, I know that some are serious and the fun is in guessing.
Because once you have a few more years experience you realize that all incentives in politics favor increasing spending. Tax cuts at the federal level can be sticky because the Fed can deficit fund itself through debt and currency printing. At the local and state level, the budgets must balance over the medium term due to debt being the inly way to deficit finance and how interest rate sensitive local government borrowing is to credit ratings.
A local tax cut without a spending cut is just a false promise. The future spending won't be cut and taxes will raise elsewhere.
Then, all the proposals are just carving out a new privileged class of people. They are only talking about eliminating property tax by making homestead exemptions 100%. Rental properties and businesses don't get homestead exemptions. So you are punishing the peoole driving the local economy (businesses that don't reside in your locality will have an advantage over your local business) and the young who rent at higher rates than own.
Broad based but low percent taxes are the true conservative position. Flat taxes basically. Not carveouts and creating dependent political constituencies that only serve to enrich the politicians.
@AmosMurphy_ This is not universally true, but American stadiums tend to have better sight lines than Europes. More vertical and more steep.
This also could just be a function of average age of stadium. Modern stadiums are more vertical than older ones.
@bumbadum14 There is an extremely easy way for Republican jurisdictions to prevent fraud in this scenario. Slow your own count down to the maximum allowed by law so no one knows what margin needs to be.
It is a symbiotic relationship. Many high paying jobs in cities support the rural areas. The engineers who design Ford's cars and factories all work in cities. But they sell those cars and trucks to the whole country. The GDP and wealth accumulates in the city because centralization makes sense for almost all white collar labor, but those white collar jobs support economic activity that wouldnt exist if the rural areas didn't need it.
Does the mathematical model account for real world human behavior. For example, drivers who will change lanes 5+ times to be in whichever lane is the fastest at the moment. Or the fact that a non-trivial percent of drivers in the non-ending lane will not let the driver merge in front of them. Which will bring traffic first to a complete stop in the ending lane and then the next nice person in the continuing lane will have to full stop their lane to let the motionless merging car (remember he didn't try to merge until the last chance) enter.
1. The fuel itself contains all the ingredients for the esplosive chemical reaction. For example a common combination us Kerosene and Liquid Oxygen.
2. Once you are in space, your rocket does not push against anything. It simply conserves momentum, or mass * velocity. Prior to the engine lighting off in space, the space vehicle has its fuel mass and self-mass going at a certain velocity. After the engine lights off, the sum of all the mass in the fuel/vehicle system still must equal its prior mementum. So it ejects the fuel mass at an extremely high negative velocity, and the remaining vehicle mass must then gain positive velocity to compensate because the momentum of the whole aystem didn't change.
@ManaByte Better or worse than Jupiter Ascending which I enjoyed? cause I am such a scifi nerd as long as the movie doesn't actively insult me like The Rise of Skywalker I will love it.
I guess that is not entirely true, I also require meaningful character development and arcs.
I don't recognize everything he has produced or done story for, but damn the ones I do recognize are amazing. Outside of Star Wars you have producer credits on Willow and the Land Before Time, story and producer credits on the Indiana Jones films. Not to mention his contributions to surround sound and digital modeling.
Man is a legend.
They actually express admiration for our cultural uniqueness. Europeans, even though we share about 90% of the culture and values of Europe, yes from Sweden to Portugal, hate us for that 10% that is different.
This is normal human nature though. The more similar you are the more the differences stand out.
