@stusfootyflash I was actually there at the game. Yeah very good vibes at the start - gradually disappeared over the first half with increasing grumblings. Beardsley and Waddle who had both had excellent world cups were on the bench. Certain Taylor's favourites in the side out of form
@footballtweet Ferdinand was a better centre back than any of the class of 92. Defoe was a better centre forward.
That’s about it.
Had he kept them together…. Not sure. Would have needed 5 better players than West Ham could afford I suspect.
@90sfootball Realistically any best Brazil side is going to be made up of 70 +82 + Ronaldo. (And maybe roberto Carlos - though I prefer Junior)
Rivaldo and Ronaldinho don’t make the cut by miles, neymar is just a joke.
@90sfootball The modernist posters up until about 1958 are great. All 3 70s have a lovely geometric simplicity. The corporate logos from 94 on are ghastly with the Qatar one particularly revolting.
@MarkKeenan5@JDNalton People who subscribe to TV companies. Minimum TV income is about 130m GBP, add in live fees and performance fees (about an additional 30 for mid table. Given that context gate receipt differentials become a marginal factor.
@Jun1John @wethinkpolling Yeah read that and thought the same. I wonder if people were saying the approved use of violence against the rioters. The commonality of support across parties makes me sceptical that this question worked.
@AiXeLsyD13@OGClose2Toast@3PickupMusicMan Not a fan (to the point of couldn't hum a single tune) but I seem to recall she made a bit of a thing about having the Johnny Marr signature jag in the picture.
@batcountry1980 Completely correct. This is a truly great album. JT in contrast, three bangers followed by more evidence that stadium post punk doesn’t really work and increasingly unsuccessful Americana.
