It is ironic to see someone born into privilege lecture others about "experience" and "grassroots understanding."

#ActorVishal entered cinema with the immense advantage of a wealthy film family and a producer father. Rajmohan, in contrast, comes from a lower middle class background and built his career through years of hard work in media. He is academically accomplished, deeply rooted in Tamil, and has spent more than 15 years engaging with society and public issues from the ground up.

He is also a filmmaker who wrote and directed his own film building his work through his own vision rather than by taking over stories initiated by others.

One inherited access. The other earned his place.

Before questioning another man's ability without even seeing his work in office, it is worth remembering that education, cultural depth, lived struggle, and integrity matter far more than privilege.

Most importantly, @imrajmohan possesses something that money, family influence, and power cannot buy: அறம் (Aram).

And that is something some people may never truly possess, no matter how much access or authority they inherit. @TVKVijayHQ

Happy to see #CMJosephVijay allocating ministries to respective elected MLAs but it's disheartening to see honorable minister #Rajmohan to be in charge as minister of Film Technology and Cinematograph Act. How would I or we as a body or as an association render our requests or grievances of our film industry which is actually bleeding and so many reforms to be made and give a ray of hope for the fraternity especially producers /production houses to someone who has lesser or no experience of wat is happening in our industry more than our CM who was and is part of the industry from grassroot level and being part of the fraternity for last 30 years.

Dear CM kindly consider above and,

1. Kindly introduce govt ticketing window which will bring revenue to govt as well as relief to viewers who pay 30rs per ticket.

2. Kindly abolish local body tax as we are the only state in India to induce 2 taxes against the "one india one tax "rule.

3. Kindly increase subsidy for small films every year from the current meager amount given.

I know this can be given as a representation to the CM but these are being requested for the last 9 years. Not demeaning Mr. Rajmohan, but it's just my opinion. CM can give us the much needed relief. God bless.

இது “போராட்டத்தின் ஒரு பகுதி”னா, அந்த போராட்டத்தின் திசை என்ன?

இது வெற்றி பெறுவதற்கான அரசியல் இல்லை. இது எந்த அரசியலோடு நின்றிருக்கிறோம் என்ற கேள்வி.

வசதியும், வளமும், அரசியல் ஆதாரமும் உள்ளவர்கள் கூட தனியாக நிற்கத் தயங்கினால் — அது தியாகத்தின் அரசியல் அல்ல, சமரசத்தின் அரசியல்.

CPIML liberation போன்ற இயக்கங்கள் இன்றும் தனியாகவே களம் காண்கின்றன. வெற்றி உறுதி இல்லாத போதும், தங்களின் நிலைப்பாட்டை விற்று விடாமல்.

அரசியலில் வெற்றி எல்லாமில்லை. நிலைப்பாடு தான் எல்லாம்.
வரலாறு யாரை நினைவில் வைத்துக்கொள்ளும் என்பதை காலம் சொல்லும்.

Dravidian politics- ஒரு அரசியல் சூழலை உருவாக்கலாம் அதில் Communist கட்சிகள் இயங்க முடியும். ஆனால் அது ‘கம்யூனிசத்தை காப்பாற்றுகிறது’ என்று சொல்வது ஒரு அரசியல் மிகைப்படுத்தல்.

கம்யூனிசம் என்பது ஒரு சித்தாந்தம் அது கூட்டணியின் மூலம் பாதுகாக்கப்படுவதில்லை. அது தனித்த அரசியல் வலிமை, cadre based மற்றும் வர்க்க அரசியலின் மூலம் தான் வளர்கிறது.

அதேபோல் அம்பேத்கர் அரசியலை எடுத்துக்கிட்டாலும், அது முக்கியமான சமூக நீதிப் பாதை தான். ஆனால் அது இன்றைக்கு பெரிய அளவில் state power-ஐ தாங்கி நிற்கும் இயக்க அரசியல் ஆக இல்லை.

But கம்யூனிசம் இன்னும் Communist Party of India (Marxist–Leninist) Liberation, Communist Party of India, Communist Party of India (Marxist) மாதிரி கட்சிகளாக, காடர் அமைப்பாக, தரைமட்டத்திலும், Kerala மாதிரி மாநிலங்களில் நேரடியாக ஆட்சி நடத்தும் political force.

அதனால், ஒரு ideology இன்னொரு கட்சியின் ‘protection’-ல வாழ்கிறது என்ற framing தவறு.

கம்யூனிசம் காப்பாற்றப்பட வேண்டிய சித்தாந்தம் இல்லை, அது ஆட்சி நடத்தும் வலிமை கொண்ட சித்தாந்தம்.! ✊🏾💙❤️🖤

Michael Parenti (1933-2026) died today. He has, as his son Christian said, 'gone to the Great Lecture Hall in the Sky'. A socialist from early into his life till the very end, Michael Parenti wrote in a feisty way and spoke bluntly the truths that were not always easy to digest in a wretched capitalist system. He was a fierce critic of imperialist wars and suffered the consequences of this because he could keep and then hold academic jobs even in liberal states such as Vermont.

The toughest test for all of us came when the USSR collapsed, and it was in this period that Michael Parenti played an important role in the Battle of Ideas, fighting the reactionary Western media and the intellectual cowardice of his peers. His books on Yugoslavia's destruction earned him terrible attacks, which he brushed off as the necessary price you pay in this struggle. In the midst of it all, Michael wrote 'Blackshirts and Reds: Rational Fascism and the Overthrow of Communism' (1997), a rebuttal to the anti-Marxist and anti-Communist blather that had begun to infect the world. The book remains an essential tool to fight against the ridiculous anti-communist historiography that demeans the great achievements of the workers' movements.

He spent the last period of his life within himself, which was a loss to the rest of us, and now his departure leaves us without that anchor which he provided.

Michael Parenti. Comrade. Our Red Flag dips in your honour.
