Sending people into space is a dumb waste of money. More is learned with far less cost by sending probes, rovers, etc. than by sending flimsy bags of salty water that are mainly blind into space.
It's hubris masquerading as science.
@daisyelfling One last thing. To replace the motherboard you'll have to very carefully remove all the parts (take notes on connections as you go) and screws. And best to sit at a table with a chair that doesn't have wheels and to touch something grounded the whole time.
@daisyelfling Looks like something fried either a resistor, trace, or the nearby chip on the board. Hopefully nothing else for damaged. Those require some expertise to repair/replace. Best bet is to see if you can replace the motherboard. Which is not so bad and for some Acer laptops ~$50.
@Pixelfish Yeah. She is advertising for the fingerprint lock, the portable locks, the camera... And they're not from companies with good security records.
@Pixelfish What's the point of the portable door locks? How would someone have gotten a copy of her keys? Is she securing herself from her husband? Then her precautions make more sense then.
On the back door the portable lock does zero to help. It's reachable from the window like the lock
Fitness "science" is of astonishingly poor quality so more or less everyone is full of shit including this nerd with his decades of experience and research.
I mean really. How do you even blind a study most of the time?
@Gen_Ironicus In the debate someone pointed out that a somewhat prominent, gay physicist was noteworthy. In response someone commented "he's from Bath. It would be more notable for him not to be gay."
My friend found this hilarious.
I guess the debate was settled since the page is now gone.
