I'm proud that Vanessa Wyche and Janet Petro will lead @NASA_Johnson and @NASAKennedy.
Both are exceptional leaders who will help propel NASA forward as we embark on a new era of exploration – starting with the Artemis I launch to the Moon this year!

Undocking confirmed! After 167 days in space – the most for a U.S. spacecraft since the final Skylab mission in 1974 – NASA’s @SpaceX Crew-1 astronauts are coming home. Splashdown is set for 2:57am ET (6:57 UT). Ask questions using #LaunchAmerica.
Liftoff! The @NASA@SpaceX Crew-2 voyage continues. Our @NASA_Johnson flight control team is monitoring Crew Dragon’s approach to @Space_Station from Mission Control Houston. #GiantLeapsStartHere
3.. 2.. 1.. and liftoff! Endeavour launches once again. Four astronauts from three countries on Crew-2, now making their way to the one and only @Space_Station:
The poll is complete, and we are "go" for launch of NASA's @SpaceX Crew-2 mission to the @Space_Station. The crew access arm is retracting. Next, arming the launch escape system, and propellant load:
After final confirmation from the Crew-2 astronauts that they're ready to go to space today, the hatch is closed on the @SpaceX Crew Dragon Endeavour spacecraft:
It's launch day! 🚀
The crew is awake and feeling good. They ate breakfast and are now donning their space suits before they walk out to catch their ride to the launch pad.
.@NASA has selected @SpaceX to continue the development of its Human Landing System for the #Artemis program.
The Human Landing System will take astronauts from lunar orbit to the lunar surface and back. Read the full announcement: https://t.co/tkojemwUUr
We like to call @NASA_Johnson the home of the astronauts, and all of them live here while they’re training and supporting human spaceflight. But in Shannon’s case, she’s a homegrown Houstonian and we couldn’t be prouder for our community to have her representing Space City.
Today, Shannon Walker will become the first native Houstonian to take command of the @Space_Station for the first time in its 20-plus-year history, according to @NASA.

Today we mourn the passing of legendary NASA Flight Director Glynn Lunney. He received the Presidential Medal of Freedom for his leadership in bringing the Apollo 13 crew safely home after an explosion in space. More on his legacy: https://t.co/hTujZF1QIA
The Griffin lander mockup is housed @NASA_Johnson’s Space Vehicle Mockup Facility, near the clean room where the VIPER flight vehicle is scheduled to be built in 2022 and launch to the Moon in 2023.
Special delivery! 🚚 Here at NASA Johnson, we recently welcomed a mockup analog of the Griffin lander. It will bring @NASA's water-hunting Volatiles Investigating Polar Exploration Rover (VIPER) to the surface of the Moon.

Another great job by our @NASA_Johnson teams in Mission Control Houston supporting Kate Rubins and @Astro_Soichi during today’s spacewalk. Todays’ work included prepping the @Space_Station’s solar arrays for future upgrades.
Astronauts Kate Rubins and Soichi Noguchi wrapped up their spacewalk today at 1:33pm ET, after 6 hours and 56 minutes, successfully installing solar array modification kits. More... https://t.co/QNG7Q2e6EQ
Great job by our @NASA_Johnson flight control teams in Mission Control assisting @NASA_Astronauts Kate Rubins and @AstroVicGlover from the ground during today's spacewalk.
Flight Director Marcos Flores and the flight control teams in Mission Control at Johnson closely monitored the @Space_Station, assisting Kate Rubins and @AstroVicGlover from the ground during today's spacewalk.
Started at 6:12am ET
Ended at 1:16pm, lasting 7 hours and 4 minutes
An important milestone for @NASA’s Gateway program managed at @NASA_Johnson. The Gateway is critical to supporting sustainable astronauts missions under the agency’s Artemis program.
We’ve selected @SpaceX to provide launch services for the Power and Propulsion Element (PPE) and Habitation and Logistics Outpost (HALO)—the foundational elements of the #Artemis Gateway. https://t.co/zUuPUP0CXs
Meet the @NASAFltDirector class of 2021! 🎉
Including our four new inductees, only 101 individuals across @NASA's history in human spaceflight have now held the role of flight director.
