Doing what's acceptable and doing what's ethical are often 2 very different things.
Standing up for yourself to decision makers under a wail of attacks and abuse by bullies, &being assertive in defending &protecting your rights is ethical even if not the status quo. #GoodTrouble

I am now hearing from multiple folks in the past two hours (including some who have personally been fired) that mass firings have now commenced within NOAA--including, yes, at the National Weather Service.
What’s one misconception about your chronic illness that you’re constantly having to correct?
Let’s clear up some myths and share the realities that people often get wrong.
As an employment law attorney, don’t listen to this advice! You need to make written complaints to your bosses and HR. Keep a copy of those complaints so that you can give it to a lawyer. Do not go to the EEOC before consulting with a lawyer because…
Folks who have completed or are currently doing their PhD:
If you were to have received a small welcome packet at your desk on Day 1 of your PhD, what would you want it to include? Some ideas: Post-its, a fun pen, highlighters, stapler, candy. What else?

Happy Disability Pride Month!
So incredibly proud to be disabled
Here's to taking up space, using our voices, forging our own paths, celebrating each other, finding joy in our friends, and creating the best community I have ever known
Y’all are shitty to disabled people year round but you REALLY ramp it up during Disability Pride Month for some reason.
I hope more bad-faith actors claiming to be in “community” with disabled people get weeded out. Their actions cause damage. We don’t need that shit.

Below are recent screenshots I took on the very few times Twitch posted anything.
We still need a Disability Twitch Guild @djclancy999. Show us that you really care to platform a diverse group of creators
Happy Disability Pride Month to everyone who didn’t see a post for their condition this month because their condition is too rare and under-researched. You matter, and you’re loved.
I love the Pride is over now it’s Wrath month joke, I really do, but it might be interesting for you guys to know that July is actually Disability Pride Month! 11% of children are disabled, rising to 23% of working age adults and 45% of pensioners. 🩶❤️💛🤍🩵💚🩶
A few months ago a “friend” told me that he felt disabled people should be denied access to healthcare so “survival of the fittest” could happen faster.
That people like me are the reasons he - a non disabled cishet white man - can’t get ahead.
How did we get here? 🧵/1
Me to myself at the doctor's: Ok smile but not much or you'll look too happy, stand up for yourself but not too hard or you'll seem rude, convey how bad this is but don't get emotional or they'll think it's in your head and don't use medical terms, they'll think you Googled it...
