Update to Brandy’s Diagnosis and Fundraiser

Hello my friends, I need to share an update and it is not what I was hoping for or expecting. In just one week, Brandy’s tumor (an MCT) has grown. It is in her lymph node and the xray shows spread to the lungs. Although I was hoping to have it removed to give her more comfort, and the first vet mentioned a “doughnut procedure” - because it is so close to the eye - it is too risky to do. Brandy is now prescribed medication to treat infection, itchiness, and pain. She is wearing a cone to help her not scratch at it (although she still tries). I was told to watch for changes in energy, breathing, and coughing, and the vets believe she has maybe a few months or less.

Even with the tumor, she is still playing, eating, drinking water, and so affectionate. The kids and I are determined to give her lots of love and fun as long as she is not in pain.

Now that I am not able to remove the tumor, I am changing the GoFundMe. I believe I can cover remaining costs when we have to say goodbye. For those of you who already donated, please do know how much help you provided with the exams and x-ray for the cancer, the visits, and the medication. I was also able to get her completely up to date on vaccines and treatment for the fleas. If you would like any reimbursement I am glad to do that, since the procedure I was hoping to have for her can now not happen.
