Thank you all for the support over the past 2 days, we raised a total of £1819 for @MindCharity. I'm proud to be apart of the @SeaOfThieves community, thank you @MthrOfChkns for putting up with me for 24hr🙂
Played SoT for the first time in 2 years and the state of the servers are atrocious. The game feels like a slideshow and just so clunky especially when boarding other people. It genuinely feels like I’m on Australian servers when on native ping.
What happened?
I also don’t like how for years PvEers have been complaining on socials for PvE servers and just left alone to cry but in the past few days everyone likes to point out and make fun of veteran player’s takes on the game that they’ve been passionate about for years
I do hope Safer Seas works out, I have over 5k hrs in SoT and even I know that I’d use that feature to play with newer/disabled gamers. I just think it’s a strange shift, what drew me to the game was the risk. My best stories are from player interaction, the PvE was too scripted
And like I understand the argument of ‘my first experience was getting sunk at an outpost’ but surely that will just change to ‘my first experience of High Seas was getting sunk at an outpost’ then they’ll stick to Safer Seas, no?
Wouldn’t this just split the playerbase even further? Anyone who comes to the game to only play Safer Seas wouldn’t actually contribute to the overall community feeling that made me fall in love with this game so long ago.
I haven’t played SoT for almost a year, just sad to see.
It was always fun running into new people and giving them loot I didn’t need or saving them from an aggressive ship or even running into the same people and just catching up. That will still be there just less now ig
@Joel71034850@KellyShmo if you're actually using windowed OBS wouldn't pick it up... unless you stretched it in OBS as well but then you'd have empty space above and below the gameplay
@Marquizzles @hardway_jones I'm more so worried about the storm that is brewing with this game and how people will see each other when it comes out. At the end of the day it is just a game but I also understand that it's tied to a transphobe, should those who play it also be tied to said transphobe?
@Marquizzles @hardway_jones I'm not trying to defend the artist and or the art, I'm more so trying understand how playing a game can cause you to be perceived as a transphobe, etc. I play Overwatch but that doesn't make me a woman abuser or mean I support it, you can't say all who work for Blizzard are bad
