Active Players - you're going to need the disability benefits that were in effect prior to the 2020 CBA. Fight to get the SSA determinations off the bargaining table before it's too late.
Benefits of #nfl DISABLED player from decades ago should not have ever been used to bargain with. The 20-25% cuts to fixed income, funds used for their care & supporting their families bc they cant work need to be taken off the table. More work needs to be done. #Forgotten400
But If their applications were received between 4/1/2020 and 3/31/2021, then they will get benefits up until 3/31/2021 if their last season is more than 7 years ago. The most a non-vested player outside of 7 years would get is 1 year of payments of approved. 🙄
So much for "fairer access" to the neurocognitive disability benefit for non-vested Players. Vested Players already receiving NCD benefits and those with pending applications from before 4/1/2020 are getting screwed out of future benefits as well.

Many disabled Former NFL Players who elected to take their pensions received a hefty deposit today without any explanation. It’s likely to be retro payment of pension increases under CBA that go back to April 1. Expect equal clawback from Disability Plan in coming months.
@NFLPA Thank the Lord for those who voiced their concerns and those who fought for us disabled. Now if the NFLPA can go back and honor the “lifetime” benefits, that’ll be the right thing to do. Grandfather it in.
Great news and an early Christmas present for the disabled players facing a reduction in their benefits next month. These benefit changes should have never been on the table to begin with and future implementation should be eliminated.
@SheillaDingus It sunsets in 2024. De Smith and his stooges are still collecting checks. @RoxyGordon16@KMajik7 and the families don’t back down. Permanent reversal ONLY. Those who perpetrated the theft must be publicly exposed and fired. Reasonable lawyer fees should paid be the PA. #NFLPA
@NFLObjectors@SheillaDingus@RoxyGordon16@KMajik7 Yes! But Elimination of SSA as a determining factor for T&P will be bigger problem in 2024. These same players who were subject to SSA offsets now may face 100% reduction of benefits when removed from T&P after evaluation by Plan neutral physicians.
@E_Reid35@meiselasb@GencoLaw Thank you everyone who is fighting for the disabled. I hope you know how big this is for our family! It means we can stay in our house and come up with some kind of plan
Reopening criteria still won’t provide evaluations for majority of disabled Players awaiting decisions on their applications or appeals 🤬🙄
1. Delay✔️
2. Deny (pending)
3. Hope you die (pending)
