A pattern:

One: God chooses a person or persons

Two: God reveals himself or convinces the person or persons that He is speaking and reveals to them His project. The project is often based upon His ability to accomplish not theirs.

Six: As the person trusts, obeys and follows God’s directions (i.e. Jericho: march 7 times on 7th day or Gideon’s army of 300, etc.) God’s grace, abilities and faithfulness are revealed as He completes His projects and fulfills the things He has given them to hope for.

So much of my own confusion, misperceptions, pride, exhaustion etc. in my early years of Christianity could have been avoided if Paul's pattern was emphasized more. You think the Christian life is all up to you. So much of the teachings were true but disjointed
