We are delighted to announce that Paul McGarrity has been appointed as the new First-Team Manager of Drumchapel United.
Paul will step up from our Under-20s alongside David Aitken, who becomes Assistant Manager, and Chris Keaveney, who takes on the role of Head Coach. The trio will work closely alongside the clubs existing coaching team, combining their experience and knowledge to ensure continuity and build on the strong foundations already in place.
All three bring extensive experience in youth football and have played pivotal roles in developing the boysโ pathway at Drumchapel United. Over the past three years, no fewer than 21 players from the development squad have made their first-team debuts, with seven going on to sign for the senior team.
These appointments reflect the clubโs long-term vision of creating a sustainable future, with the development of our own young talent at the forefront while ensuring we remain competitive on the pitch.
Paul said:
โWe are incredibly proud to be given the opportunity to manage the first team of a club that means so much to us.
โDavid, Chris and I have worked closely together within the Under-20s and have seen first-hand the quality and potential that exists throughout the club. We are passionate about continuing to create opportunities for young players while building a first team that our supporters and community can be proud of.
โWe understand the responsibility that comes with these roles and are excited about the challenge ahead. Our aim is to build something sustainable for the long term while remaining ambitious and competitive on the pitch.โ
Club CEO Scott Bland added:
โThis is an extremely positive step for the long-term sustainability of Drumchapel United. It is vitally important that we continue to recognise the talent, commitment and hard work of the people already within our club and provide them with opportunities to progress.
โPaul, David and Chris understand our values, our community and the importance of our player pathway. Their appointments demonstrate that the pathway is not only there for our players, but also for our coaches.
โWe believe they are the right team to take the club forward, and we are excited to support them as we begin this next chapter.โ
Everyone at Drumchapel United wishes Paul, David and Chris every success in their new roles.
One Team, One Family, One Community.
