Students at two Gwinnett County high schools walked out of class because they are afraid of immigration enforcement affecting their families.
They want school leaders to create policies that protect immigrant students and keep schools safe.
Ya Allah, save me from falling into those sins which I remind others not to do.
Don’t let me be a reminder for others while I forget myself.
Protect me from preaching what I fail to practice.
Times are tough. You’re facing challenges. Things are not going the way you had intended. But trust that the Almighty is in full control. So what should you do? Restart, refocus, realign, readjust your plans. Do it as often as you need to. Press on. Just don’t quit.
I'll give another example. For all the pro Palestine posts I see. How many of you have donated a dollar? How many of you even know one organization to steer OTHER PEOPLE to donate to?
A lot of you don't. Which again, fine. So don't post.
Forgive me but I want to go on a small rant. I am so sick and tired of our social media culture with the virtue signaling and empty platitudes. This generation is full of keyboard warriors whose sole concern is protecting their own image and looking good on socials.
And for every post I see about spreading awareness and acceptance, all I'm reminded of is the truth. That when confronted with actual mental illness, almost all of these people want nothing to do with you. They are scared. And that's fine. Mental illness is ugly. So don't post.
I want to speak on something that relates to me personally which is how cringe it is to me whenever I see a post about #MentalHealthAwareness
Y'all know I have bipolar disorder, I don't make an effort to hide it. I don't mean to gatekeep here. But real mental illness is ugly.
It's really a question of putting your money where your mouth is. information is a good thing, provided it's factual, and awareness is a good thing. But y'all are lying to yourselves. This type of behavior is what leads to Nancy Pelosi on the house floor in a Dashiki.
