At our @ibdcentrebc annual meeting we learned that 8000 patients in BC are getting world class multidisciplinary at our Centre. I am so proud of our team delivering this care to so many patients.
We live in a divided country. A country where many people feel they can’t talk to those with whom they disagree. Where people can’t speak across the political divide—or even sometimes across the kitchen table.
Things That Matter aims to change that.
Launched as a collaboration between CBS News and @TheFP, and sponsored by @BankofAmerica, Things That Matter is a series of town halls and debates that will feature the people in politics and culture who are shaping American life. The events will be held across the country, in front of audiences who have a stake in the topics under debate. Debuting in 2026.
Are we still capable of talking to each other?
@CBSNews and @TheFP think so.
Introducing: Things That Matter.
Debates. Town halls. Live audiences. Hard questions.
Debuting in 2026.
Brought to you by @BankofAmerica.

This is not just one person's experience. This is now the experience of the majority of Jewish medical students and young doctors @UofT. There was no anti semitism when I was there - or least I never felt it. In the last 5 years or more it's been pervasive, systematic and getting worse. The question is why? Ask yourselves what has changed in our society that now makes this acceptable again. Hint - it's not about Israel. The demonization of Israel is just the new way to justify it.

"It concerns me that a physician would make a judgment on a complex conflict without facts. He must have missed the problem-solving tutorials."
On Thursday @marcomendicino and I visited the encampment at UBC and saw signs glorifying violence and terrorist organizations. We are a country of law. The laws protect all of us. They need to be applied.
Today, Vancouver City Hall and Burrard Bridge will be illuminated for Israel's 76th Independence Day.
We recognize and uphold fundamental freedoms of speech and the ability to peacefully protest whether at City Hall, or across Vancouver. That being said, it’s equally important to emphasize that our city maintains a zero-tolerance stance towards hateful speech and violent demonstrations.
