When I think about the people who shaped my journey, I do not begin with a cricket ground or a coach. I begin at home.
Long before anyone outside my family knew my name, my father had begun to recognise my love for cricket and, perhaps more importantly, understand what it meant to me. He never knew exactly where that journey would take me. But he gave me the freedom to pursue it.
My father, Ramesh Tendulkar, was a writer, poet, and a professor, but more a mentor, a guide to many, including me. He gave me the freedom to pursue cricket while reminding me that success should never come at the cost of character. Some of the words my father said to me as a young boy have stayed with me throughout my life: failure is okay, but cheating is not. Never take shortcuts.
I was simply a boy who loved playing cricket. My father saw something more. He did not try to decide what I should become. Instead, he gave me the space and support to discover it for myself.
That, in many ways, is what a great teacher or mentor does. They recognise a possibility in you before you can recognise it yourself.
India has no shortage of young talent. Whether a child picks up a bat, a ball, a book or discovers an ability in some other field, it makes them unique in their own way. What they often lack is not talent, but access to people who can recognise that talent and help nurture it.
This belief was at the core of why Anjali and I started the Foundation. Across India, there are children with immense potential who may never get the chance to discover it because they lack access to a coach, a mentor, the right learning environment or basic healthcare. Our vision is that they get equal access to sports, healthcare and education, and a chance to prove that they belong.
My father spent his life as an educator, and I think his greatest lesson to me was the importance of giving someone the confidence and opportunity to find their own potential. This Teachers’ Day, we take the opportunity to honour the first person who saw something in me and believed in what I could become.
It is with immense pride, we are introducing the Professor Ramesh Tendulkar Memorial Fellowship, in partnership with our long-standing healthcare partner, Inga Health Foundation.
Each year, one MD (Doctor of Medicine) will receive financial support for a year-long opportunity to specialise in cleft and craniofacial care in Srinagar. On completing the programme, the fellow will receive a certificate from the Sachin Tendulkar Foundation, recognising the excellence. This is part of our long-standing commitment to support healthcare professionals in critical care and also encourage the young doctors in their field of study.
For me, this is more than a fellowship. It is a way of carrying forward something my father deeply believed in - that education creates opportunity, and that opportunity becomes truly meaningful when it is used to serve others.
My father gave me the confidence to find my own path. He dedicated his life to educating and guiding others, and I hope we can create that same sense of possibility for others, giving children and young people the opportunity to discover what they can become, and the means to make something of it.
The lessons of a teacher may begin with one student, but their influence can travel much further, from one life to another and from one generation to the next.
Happy Teachers’ Day!
Something extraordinary actually happened today.
Stuff so extraordinary, that even if it comes as a dream, you dismiss it as something that is impossibly improbable.
Thanks to your support and blessings, today I had the ultimate honor and privilege of having a conversation with our honorable Prime Minister on Mann Ki Baat about https://t.co/CIr1xkvilD
I still can't believe that he actually spoke to me, asked me about the website, its features and some questions on general history too. I am still in a daze.
For an amateur builder like me, i don't think there is a greater recognition or validation than this.
This conversation has given me enough motivation to take BharatRajya to the next level and make it the ideal history reference and visualization website for everyone.
Thank you @narendramodi ji, for encouraging people like us and inspiring us to achieve greater heights.
These is one conversation I will not forget in this lifetime. Or maybe even the next.
And rest assured sir, I won't let you down.
F&O Profit Loss Reports from SEBI for FY25–FY26 today are OUT.
Crucial Findings:
- Loss-making traders dropped to 87.7% from 90.9%.
- 93% of F&O Traders are only options buyers.
- Total loss was ₹2.03 lakh crore across FY25-FY26. That is higher than the ₹1.81 lakh crore lost in the three years before it. More money lost in 2 years than in 3.
- The Trader base shrank 18%, from 106.2 lakh to 87.5 lakh. First decline since FY16
- STT paid by individuals rose 35% to ₹6,645 crore, more than five-fold since FY22.
Its share of our transaction costs went from 13% to 27% while brokerage fell from 52% to 44%
If the stated objective was CURBING excessive speculation, and turnover is now HIGHER than pre-intervention, what is the success criterion?
Rajeev Thakkar of PPFAS on India’s Warren Buffett, Mr. Chandrakant Sampat :
“He would come every day to office, spend a few hours with the research team, pick their brains on what they are looking at and typically demolish most of their stock ideas so that was a down side to interacting with him every day.” 😂
“You got so quality conscious that most stock ideas would not pass his filter and eventually your filter.”
“He and Mr. Parag Parikh’s father were close friends. And, Chandrakant Sampat was never a stock broker or employee of any organisation.”
“But in the BSE trading ring days, the BSE authorities found him so important that he had a special pass which was only for dealers and he could enter the ring at that point in time.”
“Independently, he formed a framework of looking at ROIC, free cash flow and things like that.”
“And, his primary mantra was not growth or low multiples. His primary mantra was ROIC and low capital expenditure (capex) kind of businesses.”
“He was typically into FMCG names like Nestle, Colgate, Lever, Gillette.”

Another victim of CAS.
@SEBI_India chairman is saying there is no manipulation.
He is also saying he is open to feedback, yet he is not listening to feedback.
SEBI chairman has to be a trader who have traded all segments. IAS officers who have passed with English or Economics cannot lead such an important institution.
F&O losses are going down.
What a beautiful picture, but DEVIL is in the details.
Let’s unbox, that devil.
P.S. The video is as non-sensical as the headlines most media houses are making from this data.
The older I get, the more I realize what “rich” actually means.
It’s not the Lamborghini.
It’s:
• Living 10 min drive from work
• Having quiet, and even friendly neighbours
• Being 5 minutes from the gym
• Having money left over to invest every month and knowing how to manage it
• Peace in your own home
• A slow morning
• Drinking your coffee without rushing
• Sleeping with a clear conscience
• Laughing with people who genuinely get you
• Traveling every year
• Waking up naturally without an alarm
• Eating a home-cooked meal with people you love
• Having time to read a book just because you want to
• Enjoying the little routines you used to take for granted
• Coming home to a pet that’s genuinely excited to see you
The older I get, the less I care about looking rich.
I care about having a life that feels rich.

INSPIRATIONAL LADY! ❤️🥹
🥹💔🙏 #Parents #Love
Doordarshan sought permission for the re-telecast of Ramayana by proposing to pay ₹25000 per episode to Ramanand Sagar's daughter-in-law "Nisha Ben Sagar" for the copyright as per the rules.
Nisha Ben Sagar wrote back letter to Doordarshan stating that I would be happy that todays children will know about Ramayana and you should telecast the entire episode.
She further wrote she don't want even a single penny for copyright and thus Nisha Ben Sagar refused to take Rs 25000 per episode for the telecast of Ramayana and gave written permission.

I support this movement because every retail trader deserves fair rules.

What the hell is happening to the Indian stock market?
Dear @SEBI_India & @NSEIndia@BSEIndia
How many times do you expect traders to rebuild their entire business?
> December 2020 – 50% leverage removed
> March 2021 – 75% leverage removed
>September 2021 – 100% leverage removed
We adapted.
Yes, leverage is a double-edged sword. But thousands of genuine traders with smaller capital were affected. Still, we adapted.
> September 2023 – Bank Nifty expiry was shifted from Thursday to Wednesday, while BSE launched Sensex weekly expiry on Friday. Suddenly, we had expiries almost every trading day.
Many traders, especially algo and 0-DTE traders, redesigned their entire systems.
We adapted.
> November 2024 – Weekly expiries of FinNifty, Bank Nifty and other indices were removed. Only Nifty and Sensex weekly expiries remained.
Again, thousands of traders had to change their strategies.
We adapted.
> February 2025 – Expiry-day margin benefit was removed.
STBT traders were hit badly.
We adapted.
> 1st September 2025 – Nifty expiry shifted from Thursday to Tuesday.
Again...
We adapted.
> Jane Street reportedly made billions of dollars from Indian markets over the years. Later, regulatory action was taken, and subsequently trading restrictions were lifted after payment of regulatory dues/settlement.
How exactly did all of this benefit Indian retailers?
Meanwhile...
- Option STT has increased massively over the last few years.
- Bid-ask spreads have widened.
- Slippage has increased.
- Global volatility has increased.
- Transaction costs keep rising.
We adapted to everything.
And now...
Closing Auction Session (CAS).
Seriously?
Every few months there's another structural change.
Every few months traders are forced to rebuild their systems.
Every few months liquidity takes another hit.
You say these changes are for retail investor protection.
Then please show us the data.
Can you show even one report proving that retail trading losses have actually reduced because of all these interventions?
If not, then what exactly are these constant changes achieving?
Instead of making markets more efficient, you're making trading more expensive, more complicated, and pushing serious traders towards crypto and international markets.
As a full-time trader, my inner soul genuinely cries today seeing the direction our markets are heading.
We survived leverage removal.
We survived daily expiries.
We survived removal of daily expiries.
We survived expiry changes.
We survived removal of expiry margin benefits.
We survived higher STT.
We survived wider spreads and slippage.
Now we are expected to survive CAS as well?
Enough is enough.
I request SEBI and the exchanges to reconsider this rule.
Before implementing such major structural changes, consult the trading community. There should be proper communication, public discussion, and representation from active traders.
I also request every trader to raise their voice through the proper channels. If you genuinely believe these changes are hurting market participants, please send your feedback or complaint to SEBI through its official grievance mechanism. And if anyone from the industry has a direct channel to the exchanges or regulators, please help convey the concerns of the trading community.
Please Retweet this so our voice reaches the right people.
Enough of silent adaptation. It's time the trading community is heard.

Glasgow 2026 just concluded yesterday.
A slew of medals & a fourth place overall finish for India.
But of everything from these games, two stories touched me deeply.
A judoka whose father fixed cycles for ₹300 a day, in a mud house, & didn’t live to see his daughter become the first Indian, man or woman, to win Commonwealth Games judo gold.
And a farmer’s son from an Aligarh village who ran on dirt trails just to pass the Army fitness test, & last week became the first Indian ever to win two track medals at a single Games.
Asmita Dey. Gulveer Singh.
No shortcuts, no head starts.
Just hunger & the refusal to stay where they started.
This is what ‘Rise’ actually looks like.
A mud house & a village trail.
No words would be enough to explain why they inspire me.
