@senatorbabet So then you’ll have overpaid selfish people looking to pump up their performance bonuses with short term thinking no matter the long term consequences. No thanks.
@SteveSmith2412@hasumpstuffedup Players will adapt, good players will still be good players. But importantly, there will be a clear cut unambiguous holding the ball rule, making things easier and clearer for umpires, players and spectators.
@SteveSmith2412@hasumpstuffedup That’s the argument, you must protect the player with the ball. More accurately, protect the player with the ball who lacks spatial awareness. The cost to the game, more ball ups and congestion, confusion, and another skill, tackling, goes largely unrewarded. Scrap no prior.
@hasumpstuffedup The point is it should be holding the ball, there should be no argument. But the rules are so grey, that the free could go either way. Get rid of these nonsensical and confusing exemption clauses for holding the ball.
@FOXFOOTY@Jonesracing82 This just proves how complicated and impossible to umpire in the heat of battle is the no prior and spilled out in the tackle exemptions for holding the ball. Solution is simple, get rid of the exemptions, keep the rule simple.
@mickeyemmerson@hasumpstuffedup The AFL has doctored the rule so that holding the ball, with all the exceptions like no prior and spilled out, doesn’t exist any more. What a farce and a blight on the game.
@Quartermain10@AFL Get rid of the sub clauses for no prior and ball knocked out in tackle and go back to just holding the ball and incorrect disposal. Watch the confusion disappear.
@7AFL@Jonesracing82 The AFL boys club is responsible for this blight on the game. Every contest can now be an infringement, that could go either way. Even the players don’t understand the rules now. Umpires enforcing nonsensical rules and interpretations that decide games is ruining football.
@mattricho0@Jonesracing82 Footy would be so much better if they went back to the black & white rules. Holding the ball is holding the ball, no prior opp grey area, dropping the ball is dropping the ball, no spilled in the tackle grey, push in the back etc etc
@LeTigre_12@Richmond_FC It seems kicking skills, hardness at the ball and the player’s physical resilience were not high priorities on the recruiting checklist. And the forwards we recruited can’t kick straight and have poor football brains. Not the coaches fault…
@BarrettYouTube They always need and therefore create a boogeyman to justify the transfer of public money into private hands. Whether it’s the threat of war, a virus, climate change, the ozone layer, the millennium bug, any excuse to fleece the taxpayer.
@joeldav23@Cal_UpTheTigs Having gone through 30 years of repeatedly blooding kids with no improvement in the team for most of that time, we should be forgiven for being somewhat edgy with what we’re seeing.
@demi_anderson0 🎯 I completely agree with you. The so called “justice” system is all set up by lawyers and politicians to enrich and protect themselves and their cronies.
