Great little tip (from myself) for #GodotEngine development: here's the bitmask needed for Wang tiles created by Tilesetter. You have to switch the Terrain to be Match Corners only. Red is where to place the bits.

AI sucks at coding. Not just a little bit. It is complete trash. Sol 5.6? It's just designed to steal money from people by eating tokens less efficiently. Fable? So buggy, creating nonsense everywhere. The stories of oneshots beggar belief. These are the best we have? Ugh.
I've heard a number of people claim lately that coding isn't art, and therefore things like AI can be especially good at it. I disagree with the premise. Choice of abstraction, knowing when to refactor, design patterns, these are all forms of art to me.
To claim they are not is demonstrating a lack of vision. It's not that art is what we make of it; no, it's that code has structure, but also creativity can be used to figure out how to put stuff together to create a system that works and does its job, and that's beautiful.
@hamilto8 It's more than that - they can't tell when a simile or metaphor or even an adjective is accurate or sensical. I've worked on codebases over 2M lines (note: not "tokens") that people claim AI will modernize, but they weren't even big projects in comparison to some.
Think "Fable" is good? Try telling it to write a 2K word story. It will write it, but it is painful AF to read. This is how I know humans aren't going anywhere soon: our context limit, hell, our brain's architecture, is far, far superior for just about every task.
I now believe LLMs can't even access 90% of their working brains, due to their own crappy architecture. It's embarrassing. Skills help, so do MCP servers, but they're like people claiming garlic makes their memory better. 🤣
By the way, 2K words is nothing. It's a few pages in a book. If the legendary Fable LLM can't even come close to producing so little with the resources Anthropic has, what chance do any others hope to have? Meanwhile, we're writing bangers at 180K words and climbing from there.
@mrmaxm@LudensLudonauta No it wouldn't, re a microwave. Are you using AI to write your responses? Seems like it. I use a microwave and I cook food with it all the time.
Why are people talking about how well Fable codes? It codes as Opus 4.8, which is debatably worse than Opus 4.7 due to bugs in the guardrails they put in (as I understand it, could be wrong about that).
If you wanted to contribute to a FOSS project and hired a bunch of hackers/bad actors to put together a PR for you, would you expect that FOSS project to be okay to merge it? Would you say you wrote it, and vouch for it? I'm actually asking, not farming engagement.
