Every year, a neighbour in my street puts faces on the sunflowers that they grow out the front of their house. It’s been a good year for them so more faces this summer.
Always makes my laugh when I see them 😄
We need more people like this in our world!! 🤗
David Lammy’s Crime Data Cover-Up
We learnt from the grooming gang scandal that suppressing uncomfortable information creates more victims. Crime data should be published, not hidden. If there are patterns linked to nationality, culture, age or sex, we need to understand them so we can tackle them. You cannot prevent crime if you refuse to examine the evidence.
David Lammy’s Ministry of Justice is challenging the ruling to publish foreign national offending data from 2018 to 2024. If Labour won’t identify where problems exist, it cannot develop effective policies to stop them. Hiding data doesn’t make crime disappear. It only makes it harder to understand and prevent.
The hill farm made a loss. On farming. Last year.
Not an opinion. Defra's own arithmetic, sat in the Farm Business Survey, the most damning document in British agriculture and nobody has opened it.
Take the average Less Favoured Area grazing farm. Uplands. Sheep, some cattle, the ground you drive through on the way to the Lakes and call unspoiled. In 2024/25 its Farm Business Income averaged £40,300, and when that figure reaches a newspaper it is used to prove farming is doing nicely.
Open it up.
Of that £40,300, some £23,600 arrived for hedges, margins, habitat and paperwork. Another £7,500 came from the barn conversion and the caravans. And agriculture, the production of food from grass, the entire nominal purpose of the place, the reason the family has been on that hill for a hundred and forty years, returned an average loss of £2,700.
The farm lost money farming. It made money being scenery.
We wanted cheap food and a pretty view and we declined to pay for either at the till. So the state pays him separately to stay in position. Not to feed you. To maintain the backdrop, count the birds, stand in the photograph.
We turned shepherds into park keepers and then congratulated ourselves on the parks.
Here is the part that should frighten you rather than annoy you. A man paid to be scenery is one budget line from being nothing. That £23,600 is a policy, and policies get reviewed. This year's forecast already has him down 8 per cent to £37,000. He cannot lose the sheep money, because there wasn't any. He can only lose the reason he is still there.
Then the ground goes to whoever bids, which is a fund, or a forestry play, or a carbon offset for an airline in another hemisphere. And the flock is sold.
Understand what leaves with it. A hefted flock is not livestock, it is knowledge held inside animals, of which shoulder of that hill is survivable in a January wind and which one takes you, learned by ewes teaching daughters for two hundred years, passed down in the dark, on the ground, in weather. Buy a thousand sheep tomorrow and they will wander off the mountain by Thursday, because nobody has told them where the mountain ends.
You cannot restock that. There is no scheme for it. It exists in one flock, on one hill, until the day it is loaded into a lorry, and then it has never existed at all.
The Guardian will not run this. No villain in a hat. Only a survey table, a loss of £2,700, and a country that stopped buying its own dinner and started buying the postcard.
So @Tesco why are you adding FOLIC ACID to your allegedly 'finest' WHOLEMEAL bread? A: FA is exempt in wholemeal & B: it actively fuels cancer, plus a whole host of people have to actively try & avoid it as advised by NHS. As a CANCER patient, I really would like an answer
A college economics professor stated that he had once failed an entire class. That class insisted that socialism is functional and that no one should be poor and no one rich, that everyone is equal...
The teacher told them, "OK, we will do an experiment on socialism in this group.
All grades will be averaged, and everyone will get the same grade, so no one will fail and no one will get a 10."
After the first test, the grades were added up and divided by the number of students, and everyone got an 8.
The students who studied intensively were upset, but those who studied less were overjoyed.
As the second test approached, the students who had studied a little learned even less, and those who had studied more intensively told themselves that they also wanted a "handout", so they also studied less.
The average of the second test was 6.
When the third test was given, the average score was 4. To the great surprise of all the students, they all failed.
The teacher told them that socialism will eventually fail because when half the population sees that they cannot work, because the other half will take care of them, and when the half that worked realizes that there is no point in working anymore, because others are the beneficiaries of their labor, then that is the end of any nation
The story may be a fable not a fact but the moral is real
Get it?
At ninety-eight, Fred Kummerow sued the Food and Drug Administration.
He was a biochemist at the University of Illinois, born in Germany, and he had been trying to get someone to listen for a very long time.
In 1957 he took samples from the arteries of people who had died of heart attacks and identified what was clogging them: trans fat, the artificial kind made by pumping hydrogen through cheap vegetable oil to turn it solid. The margarine and shortening the new dietary advice was busy recommending in place of butter and lard were full of it. He published the finding in Science. He fed the stuff to pigs and watched the lesions form in their arteries too. And he said so, plainly, for decades, while the food pyramid pointed the other way and the money stayed with the cheap solid fat that never went off on a shelf.
The scale of it is worth stating plainly. By the time the ban finally arrived, artificial trans fats were being linked to something on the order of tens of thousands of American deaths a year. Kummerow was heckled by industry men at scientific conferences for daring to say so. Here was one biochemist, armed with a hospital's worth of diseased arteries and a lab full of pigs, up against an entire manufacturing sector whose cheapest and most convenient fat he was trying to condemn, and the sector had the ear of the regulator while he did not.
They did not listen. The oil was profitable and convenient and the story had already been sold. So in 2009, aged ninety-four, he filed a formal petition asking the FDA to act. Three years passed and they did not answer it. So in 2013, a few weeks short of ninety-nine, he took the federal government to court for ignoring him.
Two years later the FDA finally moved to ban artificial trans fats from the American food supply. Kummerow lived to see it. He died in 2017 at the age of a hundred and two, of the arteriosclerosis he had spent sixty years warning the country about.
The fat he identified stayed in the food for another half century after he found it, because taking it out cost money and leaving it in did not.
He was right in 1957. They agreed with him in 2015. Nobody has ever explained the years in between.
The Palestinian Authority Is Collapsing, And It Should Be Allowed to Die
I’ve watched the Palestinian leadership from the inside my entire life.
They have rejected every opportunity for peace and statehood, from the 1948 Partition Plan, all the way to 1993, 2000, and 2008. At every single junction, destroying Israel was more important to them than building a normal life for their own people.
Instead of building a functioning society, they created a corrupt system based on victimhood and permanent conflict.
The Palestinian Authority became nothing but a criminal middleman that stole from its people while living off international aid and Israeli tax money.
October 7th was the last bridge they burned with their own hands.
The Palestinian Authority is collapsing, and it should be allowed to die. The same goes for Hamas and every other failed Palestinian entity.
The Arabs of Judea and Samaria deserve a chance at a normal life. They deserve to raise their children in peace, send them to school without teaching them to hate, and build a future instead of sacrificing them for a fantasy.
The solution is not another Palestinian “state” or another corrupt authority. The real path forward is to remove the middlemen completely and work directly with the tribal and clan leaders, the people who actually care about their communities, not about slogans and resistance.
The Palestinian Authority, Hamas, and the whole “resistance” industry have been a curse on these people for far too long. It’s time to end this failed experiment and try a completely different approach.
A lot of people wonder how the pro-Palestine/Anti-Israel protests started within hours of the Hamas terror attack and often included preprinted posters and ready made "genocide" chants. How was it so organized and "spontaneous"?
I, and other journalists, are chasing the 'follow the money' story behind the movement that appeared "out of nowhere" on October 8.
This past week, an @NGOmonitor report provided the data inside the UK experience. It maps 40 major post-October 7 protest and mobilization campaigns in the UK — and it undercuts the "spontaneous grassroots reaction" narrative that took hold right after Hamas's October 7 massacre.
The findings: At least 11 of the 40 organizations mapped have links to extremist actors — the Iranian regime and IRGC, Hamas, Hezbollah, the PFLP, or the Muslim Brotherhood — either directly or through officials who met or cooperated with them.
Leadership overlaps heavily across the six primary coordinating groups. Jeremy Corbyn—the antisemitism former Labour Party leader— alone holds posts in three of them simultaneously. The funding for Corbyn's own group, the People's Forum UK, is undisclosed.
Youth recruitment is a high priority — Amnesty International UK is cited for running an activism-training program aimed at UK youth; Friends of Al-Aqsa for youth-mobilization messaging.
—Of the 40 groups, only 10 are registered charities.
—Thirteen operate completely outside any formal UK regulatory framework — while still soliciting public donations.
—Nineteen receive UK government funding via the FCDO or Gift Aid. At least 11 draw taxpayer money from other governments too, including the US and several EU states.
—Funding also flows from major US progressive foundations — Open Society, Rockefeller Brothers Fund among them — plus, per the report, cryptocurrency channels used by CAGE and Palestine Action, the latter now a proscribed organization under UK law as of a June 2026 Court of Appeal ruling.
What the NGO Monitor report shows is a well-funded, coordinated infrastructure that existed before October 7 and moved fast because it was already built — organizationally, financially, and rhetorically — around "genocide" messaging with no space made for Israeli victims.

🚨 WHERE ON EARTH IS THE HOME OFFICE?
While the Westminster elite are busy playing their childish leadership games, our borders have just collapsed to an absolute, record-breaking new low. 🤡
This weekend, a single, unseaworthy small boat crossed the English Channel carrying a record-breaking 128 migrants!
Think about the sheer scale of this. Over 120 people crammed into one inflatable dinghy, traversing the busiest shipping lane in the world, with zero resistance from the UK authorities!
Where on earth is the Home Office? Where is Shabana Mahmood? Where is their highly boasted "beach enforcement"?
They just stood at a podium and promised that their "new deal with the French" was finally going to stop the crossings!
The reality is that over 12,000 illegal migrants have already invaded our shores this year alone, and the smuggling gangs are literally laughing in our faces.
They will restrict your internet, tax your family home, and freeze your bank account, but they completely refuse to stop a massive, overloaded boat from landing on our beaches.
It is an absolute national security disgrace.
RT to expose this complete border farce and demand a General Election NOW! 🔁🇬🇧🔥
🚨 BREAKING: THE MASK HAS COMPLETELY SLIPPED ON LABOUR'S NATIONALISATION PLAN.
Rachel Reeves has just gone on live television to save her own career, refusing to admit that stripping winter fuel payments from millions of pensioners was a mistake. 🤡
But while she was busy warning Andy Burnham that "governing is hard," Burnham's top economic adviser, Miatta Fahnbulleh, let their true agenda slip.
She openly admitted that Labour's plan is to seize "public control" of your housing, your energy, your water, and your transport.
They spent 2 years taxing you to the highest levels in peacetime history and running the country into the ground.
Now, they are going to use the economic crisis they created to nationalise your life’s essentials and build a full-scale socialist state.
They want to empty your pockets, control your home, and completely dictate how you live.
Starmer might be packing his bags, but the uniparty is preparing a far-left takeover of our entire country.
RT to warn the nation and demand a General Election NOW! 🔁🇬🇧🔥
🚨 Halal-certified slaughterhouse fined after blocking health inspectors from entering.
Yorkshire Abattoir Services Limited (West Yorkshire) was hit with over £62,800 in fines + costs for obstructing Food Standards Agency officers.
Not their first time in court — they were previously fined £34k+ for food hygiene offences in 2018.
When even basic inspections are being blocked, consumers have every right to ask questions about standards, welfare, and transparency in the supply chain.

Stop blaming @elonmusk for your mess in Britain. Blame your politicians. By 2040, the British Parliament will be controlled by Islamist Muslim Brotherhood members, London's charities will be taken over by British jihadist citizens, and England's universities will become proxies of Iran's former Islamic Republic. The Muslim Brotherhood uses your democracy to censor your freedom of speech.
A man spent a year eating like Erling Haaland and the only side effect anyone could find was that it worked.
He filmed the lot. Organ meat. Raw milk from a glass the size of a boot. Six fried duck eggs before most people have found their slippers. Grass fed ribeye. The full Norwegian striker routine, run by an ordinary bloke for twelve months, and by the end he had dropped sixty pounds, walked away from the junk he used to live on, and felt better than he had in years.
Then the health desk arrived to explain why this was a tragedy.
The write up, in a major outlet this week, actually prefaced the warning with the words as a health editor, I have to tell you. You can hear the training kick in. The man had just described getting well, and the reflex fired anyway. Whole foods, it conceded, are better than ultra processed ones, especially meats. Good. Correct. And then, without drawing breath: the science does not support eating this way long term, because red meat is linked to heart disease and certain cancers.
That word linked is doing the heavy lifting, and it is the entire trick. It comes from the studies where they hand people a questionnaire, ask them to remember how much bacon they ate across a whole year, then follow them for a decade and tot up who falls ill. The heavy red meat eaters in those studies also, without fail, smoke more, drink more, move less and hoover up the whole ultra processed funfair around the meat. So the steak stands in the dock for crimes committed by the beer, the chips, the sofa and the forty a day.
Ask why the flinch is so violent and you find forty years of professional pride at stake. Careers, guidelines, food pyramids and entire charities were poured into the saturated fat theory. The same experts who marched a nation off butter and onto margarine cannot now watch a man thrive on a ribeye without reaching for the smelling salts.
The food that was quietly finishing him off never troubled a single one of them. The steak that pulled him out has a whole profession clutching its pearls.
@Nov81979@AldiUK That's because of the price of fuel. It would be even more if they had to supply more staff, which is any business' costliest resource.
