This exactly. People say Sony rejected D3, but that ignores how we got here. Bungie spent years diverting Destiny revenue into Marathon and multiple incubation projects while Destiny 2 suffered from content droughts, layoffs, declining player counts and community frustration. By the time D3 would've been pitched, Destiny was already in a weaker position than it should have been.
Bungie piledrived destiny into the ground and the community thinks it’s Sony’s fault for wanting to discontinue it.
If a coffee shop isn’t profitable the owner will close the doors. Video games aren’t any different.
Blame the right people. Destiny 3 isn’t coming. #marathon
🚨BREAKING: Marathon recent reviews are approching MIXED!
Ever since Bungie/Sony anounced Destiny 2 was ending Live Service, reviews for Marathon were going negitive, but since yesterday when Marathon became FREE TO PLAY for a week, most of those 0-2 hour playtime reviews have been negitive. Recent reviews are approching Mixed now.
I agree, the reviews coming in are kinda pointless and people are exploiting the fact that you can just leave a review now withput any intension of playing/paying for 1 week. I don't agree with that tactic, as much as I don't care for Marathon, it shouldn't be treated badly because of Deadstiny frustration.

PlayStation's highly-anticipated State of Play event was flooded by demands for Destiny 3. During the opening of the show, PlayStation's official Twitch chat was almost completely dominated by cries for a new Destiny game. https://t.co/9Q8ZpVPQZI
I mean your kinda dumb and pathetic if you think I make a living out of playing a video game and making content lol. If you must know, last month I made $0 from YouTube and the month before I made around $70. Because that's definitely paying the bills right my so called "rage baiting" lmao, you think I do this because I want to, I just want the game I love to improve and improvement dosn't come by accepting garbage for years. People are dumb af honestly
@ExcelionRyn I mean if you're wanting to compare Marathon to other games in it's genre then that's EVEN WORSE lmao. Compare Marathon to Arc Raiders then? LOL...
Ok so it turns out Marathon peaked at 40,686 peak concurrent on Steam while Destiny 2 is just warming up at slightly under that player count (bare in mind Marathon Season 2 day 1 launch vs Destiny 2 content drought for 6 months no new content added). Next Tuesday that number is going to skyrocket. Not to mention the State of Play chat was overwhelmed with #WeWantDestiny3 so I wonder if they got the message yet?
I know Servers had issues but the peak still wouldn't have been much higher.
No hate on Marathon, I hope you're all having a great time with the new Season, but I hope Sony understands that Destiny has a lot of potential still.
