BREAKING | India’s High Commissioner to Canada, Dinesh Patnaik, told Globe & Mail that CSIS has been “compromised” by Sikhs & suggested that Khalistani groups paid Canadian intelligence officers to make false claims against India.
These statements were made without providing any evidence.
Patnaik also alleged the Nijjar investigation has been “twisted” & politicized, while claiming the RCMP has previously been susceptible to political direction.
India has continued to refuse to cooperate with any investigation and deny any role in transnational repression or foreign interference in Canada, contrary to findings in the Public Inquiry into Foreign Interference and various CSIS and RCMP reports.
This all comes as India has sent Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce and Industry, to Ottawa with a large trade delegation as both governments work towards a trade deal.
