🚗 Notice Issued to Abandoned Vehicles in Public Spaces

As part of the abandoned vehicle clearance drive, notices have been affixed to ownerless and abandoned vehicles parked in public spaces within the Cottonpet Sub-Division of the Bengaluru Central City Corporation.

If the vehicles are not removed within the time specified in the notice, further action will be taken in accordance with the rules.

“A cleaner, safer and more walkable Bengaluru is our commitment.

The Greater Bengaluru Authority has launched the Safe Footpath campaign with Minister for Greater Bengaluru Development Shri Krishna Byre Gowda spearheading its execution.

Over 430 km of footpaths have already been cleared for pedestrians, and this drive will continue without fear or favour. Registered street vendors will be provided designated vending spaces, push carts and will be encouraged to carry out their business ensuring that both livelihoods and pedestrian rights are protected.

With more than 900 pedestrian fatalities in the last three years and repeated public demands for safer walkways, the Government is acting in accordance with the directions of the Hon’ble Supreme Court. The campaign will now be expanded further, including the removal of abandoned vehicles encroaching on footpaths.

So far, thousands of encroachments have been cleared from shops and 9,878 encroachments of various kinds have been removed. Simultaneously, footpaths are also being repaired to ensure they are safe and pedestrian-friendly.

Getting defence land is becoming a huge problem as they are asking for market value of the land though the land is used for public purpose. Imagine having to pay 1000s of crores to ministry of defence to take govt land for roads!

The new policy of MoD makes it difficult for the govt departments to take land from MoD for public purposes.
